Came in from work earlier on. Had a bath, then wandered downstairs to vegitate watch tv for an hour before cooking tea.

But, there's bloody nothing on and all the stuff that is on is totally blokey! 007, Star Trek, 007, Top Gear, Carry On Rubbish, more 007 Angry

We have freeview and I couldn't watch a dvd because they're either kids stuff or 18s Sad

I don't want to watch silly, girly stuff, just something interesting and not blokey and naff.

I know I should use my time more creatively, but I've been up since 6am working.

AIBU?

ilovemyhens · 07/05/2011 19:39

iPlayer/4od etc?

I am loving Dr Who at the moment but not sure I'd be that enthused by a DVD of an older series.

ilovemyhens · 07/05/2011 20:19

The dcs are the Dr Who fans. I haven't ever really bothered with iplayer. Perhaps I should take a look.

MavisEnderby · 07/05/2011 20:21

ilovemyhens · 07/05/2011 20:21

I like The Cybermen and the Ood and The Daleks, but can't understand the stories.

ilovemyhens · 07/05/2011 20:23

Why is virtually everything on the tv so blokey? It's all cars this and extreme engineering that Hmm It's well seen who decides what's going to be on.

southeastastra · 07/05/2011 20:24

i'm half watching a thing about louis xiv

Thingumy · 07/05/2011 20:24

You missed Don't Scare The Hare on BBC1 then?

Who the fuck decided that would be excellent viewing for a Saturday night?

They need sacking killing.

Ormirian · 07/05/2011 20:28

Doctor Who? Don't you like Doctor who? Shock

Exile was really good - on I-Player. And there are loads of good dramas on Radio 4 extra.

I like engineering and science stuff though. Not TG. Not generally keen on 'girly'.

choceyes · 07/05/2011 20:30

Spiral om BBC4 is AMAZING.

ilovemyhens · 07/05/2011 20:32

I'm not intelligent enough to understand Dr Who Sad I just can't take in what's going on and end up just wandering around the house looking for stuff to do.

I don't know what Scare The Hare was about.

I know not of these programmes of which you all speak Sad

supermarketworker · 07/05/2011 20:36

i am watching the good life - its the best programme ever!

seaweedhead · 07/05/2011 20:36

YANBU. If there's nothing on that I really want to watch I just switch it off now and go and read a book instead...or lurk on MN of course. Its so easy to just sit and watch any old crap but if we all started finding something better to do maybe they'd be forced to rethink the schedules.

theglove · 07/05/2011 20:39

Omirian's right, go on iplayer if you can.
the News Quiz on radio4 has been brilliant this seriesGrin

Due to weird arieling, I watch mostly online and although it's destroyed my concentration level, it's good to be able to choose.
You're right though, tv is rubbish tonight.
Apprentice starts next Tuesday, hooray

MrsChemist · 07/05/2011 20:43

You're not wrong, telly is shite tonight, so I'm watching Pride and Prejudice (BBC version) that I bought last week.

I love it so much. It's fucking awesome.

Ormirian · 07/05/2011 20:44

Try this

There are some Arthur C Clarke short stories on Iplayer and some ghost stories. And a really good radio crime drama with Imelda Staunton.

Or read something. I am in the middle of a Jo Nesbo book and it#s brilliant.

ilovemyhens · 07/05/2011 20:45

I love the News Quiz, but never seem to have time to watch/listen to stuff. I just flop down when I can between frantic cleaning/tidying etc.

I have given up watching Coronation Street recently, so I'm feeling a bit twitchy atm.

Thank you for the link and the suggestions. Perhaps I really need to rethink my viewing habits and go online a bit more.
