This is sort of a post about a thread....
I have noticed that people on here seem to get all het up when an OP posts something that was in a previous thread (from a week, or a month ago, whenever) and do not want repeat threads. There is a strong chorus of "Didn't we do this thread already?"
At the same time, it seems to be seen as wrong to post on a dead thread, reactivating it.
So, what is an OP meant to do?

I saw someone saying that on the 'God bothering' thread earlier, and perhaps because some people found it offensive the OPs overkilled a phrase people remember.

But I don't get it either, most people aren't on here 24 hrs and you can't remember (or want to) all the threads, plus there are some 'old faves' that I haven't been on that I wouldn't mind a posting on to get my twopenneth in.

They disappear after 90 days in chat, but I like it that some things keep coming up normally with a different take on each one.

I suspect it's more to do with some people just being anal about rules like telling other posters off though Grin

FurKnickersAndNoCoat · 07/05/2011 02:40

am relatively new here but i think that some people like to bash it home that they have 'been here' a long time and yawn yawn somebody new is bringing up something that may have been mentioned before. or perhaps it's genuine and people suspect 'trolling'. IMO i find it rude. if i wanted to post about something i wanted help or advice for i wouldn't like to think i would be expected to trawl through page after page to check it hadn't been done before. If a person doesn't want to respond then they don't have to. Simples.

AgentZigzag · 07/05/2011 02:46

I don't think you can search for stuff anyway, it's all 'I'm really furious with DH because...' as a title, or 'I know IABU, but need to vent'.

So looking up 'secret Fruitshoot addiction' isn't going to get you the help/advice you need for such a horriible problem.

FurKnickersAndNoCoat · 07/05/2011 02:48

omg you have a secret fruitshoot addiction? well why didnt you just SAY so Grin i like to add a splash of vodka to mine. saves a fortune in the harvester Grin

AgentZigzag · 07/05/2011 02:51

Bollocks.

I didn't mean for it to come out like that.

I'm going to regret posting that in the morning.

FurKnickersAndNoCoat · 07/05/2011 02:53

well im sorry but this is what happens when you allow the fruitshoot to take over your life. you had a sausage roll today as well didn't you. DIDNT YOU.

FurKnickersAndNoCoat · 07/05/2011 02:54

I'm sorry I judged your roots now I know how it feels to be scorned

FurKnickersAndNoCoat · 07/05/2011 03:00

FurKnickersAndNoCoat · 07/05/2011 03:03

AgentZigzag · 07/05/2011 03:27

I know, I really should get off, the threads I'm on are all jumbling into one big cat shitty-snaily-hairy thread Grin

Goodynuff · 07/05/2011 03:33

Thank you for the responses Smile
I am glad that I am not the only one to notice. I haven't been hoolered at for doing it yet, but I'm still new here, and there is plenty of time Grin

Would it be ok if I played my banjo on your thread? (twang)

anonymosity · 07/05/2011 03:39

I do think some people moan to assert their longevity here, but I think people also complain about repetition because ALL the threads, even without repetition are so boring a lot of the time. Especially the really long ones - 100s of people repeating what the last one said, or too many pages long for you to bother to read it all. Boring, boring and boring.
