In my house, sorting kids. I see a shadowing figure come to the door and scuttle away.

In the door was a "your werent in" slip from the post office; saying they had knocked and the parce was too big etc

I bloody WAS there, they did NOT bloody knock!!!!!

borderslass · 05/05/2011 08:15

Yes DD1 once had a card through about her being out problem was it was an hour earlier than it said on the card, she hadn't been out all day she was waiting in for the parcel.

hester · 05/05/2011 08:19

Happens all the time. Once I managed to get the door open just as they arrived, and saw the note ready in hand. The parcel was back in the van.

femalevictormeldrew · 05/05/2011 08:21

If I get a parcel the postman knocks on the front door, opens it, throws it into the hall and runs. Doesn't even wait for me to go to the door. Strange people

anotheracademic · 05/05/2011 08:21

And now I wont be able to collect it until saturday...grrr

YABAbitU. You scuttled away.

femalevictormeldrew · 05/05/2011 08:29

kreecher I think it was the postman who scuttled away

Punkatheart · 05/05/2011 08:57

I am very upset that someone has a hot postman. Mine looks like a spider.

Icelollycraving · 05/05/2011 09:01

They don't actually bring the parcel here, they just leave a card. When I questioned them as I was in,they said 'you can't expect us to just carry round everything,it gets too heavy'. I replied ' it seems very reasonable for you to deliver a parcel that someone has paid the service for,is that not your job???'
WTF!!!

SarkyLady · 05/05/2011 09:04

Phone the sorting office and insist they deliver today.

Scholes34 · 05/05/2011 09:14

Mine knows the porch doors are always unlocked and he can leave parcels in there. He even passed over a parcel to me when I bumped into him in town when he was on his way back to the sorting office with it, and we'd only been at this address for 6 months at the time.

They're not all bad.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 05/05/2011 09:16

Thanks female.
OP, in light of the clarification, you are of course NBU. At all.

Happened to me. I was sitting in, house quiet on purpose so I'd hear the doorbell/knock. Due to stupid 'leave 48 hours' rule about collecting parcels I had to spend own time and money on buying a duplicate of the thing I was expecting in the parcel or I'd have missed a deadline. Wrote to them, escalated it all the way to the top (Postal Review Panel or whatever) and the fuckers never apologised and refused to give me any compensation or any acknowledgement that they'd done wrong.

God I hate them.
