lookingfoxy · 03/05/2011 20:52

My ds certainly thinks im unreasonable, he is currently bathed and in bed about 1/2 hour ago.
Some children his age and younger are still out playing.
Schools on tommorow.
Is this too early?

Mine has been in bed since 7pm

Hardhatonamission · 03/05/2011 20:52

Too late in my eyes. School nights bedtime is no later than 8pm in this house.

sickoftheholidays · 03/05/2011 20:54

7.30pm here on school nights, in for 8.30 and bed at 9 in the holidays/weekends

squeakytoy · 03/05/2011 20:54

I would say 7.30 and I am very liberal with bedtimes.

indulged · 03/05/2011 20:55

I reckon mine didnt go to sleep until 7.30...he read in bed from 7 pm though

peggotty · 03/05/2011 20:56

dd in bed by 7.15, sometimes awake/reading til around 8pm at the latest.

icooksocks · 03/05/2011 20:56

DD is 6 and is in bed by 8pm on school nights, whenver on weekends but no later than 9pm usually.

Ben10isthespawnofthedevil · 03/05/2011 20:57

7.30-8 here on school nights

lookingfoxy · 03/05/2011 20:57

I aim for 7.30 - 8pm but obviously fail sometimes as tonight was 8.20pm.
One of the boys is 4 at the oldest, still out there.

DS in bed by 7pm and asleep by 5 past, he is a bedtime dream child. DD2 on the other hand Hmm..........

Niecie · 03/05/2011 20:59

Depends on the child - some children do need less sleep than others but you have to gauge whether he can cope with late nights. And of course it depends on what time he has to get up.

DS1 wasn't asleep before 9pm at 6 yo. He didn't have to get up until 8am so he still had the chance for a full 11 hours sleep although he usually woke up earlier. DS2 needs more sleep than that though and was in bed earlier at 6 yrs old.

7.30pm for all of mine, 9y 6y & 3y. 3y old asleep within 5 minutes & the older two read muck about and drive me mad until 8pm.

Alambil · 03/05/2011 21:01

at age 6, DS was in bed by 7pm unless holidays/special occasion.

He's 8 now and has only recently been staying up til 8pm.

bigbumum · 03/05/2011 21:03

7.30pm on school night, around 8.30 at weekend.

Not too early as my ds is dead to the world by 7.45 and is SO ready for bed by that time.

FannyFifer · 03/05/2011 21:04

My 6 year old is just heading to bed now, any earlier and he is up at stupid o clock in the morning. He gets up at 8.

speakercorner · 03/05/2011 21:05

7-7.30pm for my dds, and dd1 (6) is asleep within minutes. Mine wake up early - regardless of what time they go to bed. In winter they are in bed and often asleep by 7, but it is a bit too light for that at the moment.

Hardhatonamission · 03/05/2011 21:06

fannyfifer do you live next door to school then?! If DC got up at 8 we'd not be in school until 9:30!

Poochini · 03/05/2011 21:08

4.7 ds and 5.9 dd both in bed at 6.45pm so asleep waaaaay before 7.30. They'd wake up at about 6am even if they went to bed at 10pm so I pack em off nice and early.

DramaInPyjamas · 03/05/2011 21:08

7.30 - 8pm on a school night. Weekends is 8 - 9pm (ages 6 & 7)
Holidays maybe a wee bit later.

Yanbu. There are kids near me still out playing just now :/

Happymm · 03/05/2011 21:09

6.45 for DS2 (2), 7pm DS1 (5) and 7.15 DD (7). DD often reads for a bit but zonked by 7.45. Also same at weekend-completely incapable of staying up without loosing it! Clever mummy, for big routine when small! :o

Happymm · 03/05/2011 21:09

Or losing!Blush

Changing2011 · 03/05/2011 21:12

DD is 5 and I miss her company so sometimes try and keep her up a little longer - she asks to go to bed if we get 1 min past 8 o clock Hmm loves her bed!

FannyFifer · 03/05/2011 21:31

hardhatonamission pretty much, school starts at 9.05 and we leave at 8.55. Grin

yestheyareallmine · 03/05/2011 21:33

my almost 10 year old was asleep by 8
