AIBU to feel terrified about going back to work today?

I have been off with a serious chronic illness for 6 months and am going back this afternoon on a phased return. I am bricking it! My workplace is lovely and the management have been supportive and very kind, but I'm still very scared.

Can't even decide what to wear after all this time in jeans and jumpers.

Black trousers, and a simple top that you feel comfy but smart enough for work.

You will be fine, and I am sure they are looking forwards to having you back, and everyone will be doing their best to help you settle back in.

oh bless you, of course you are defo NOT BU. I always stick to good old safe black trousers if I dont know what to wear to work. Good luck and im sure you will be fine but its perfectly reasonable to be scared, i would be too.

Hey good luck on your return to work, try not to worry too much am sure it be fine.

Often anticipation is worse than the reality - once you are there and actually doing the job rather than worrying, you will be fine!

I work in a school (not as a teacher) and I'm most worried about how I will handle the kids after all this time. It's made worse by the fact that I've got severe vocal problems, which have not been sorted yet.

Hi By the time you get this message you will probably be back.
Early this year I was off for 2 1/2 months and it got harder and harder to go back.

Once I got back everyone went 'Oh Hi Upahill, you ok?' and that was that!!
I had my back to work interview and my boss was great and that was it.

I wore the same clothes as ever, ripped jeans and a hoody and old trainers!!!!

It went OK thanks - just very, very tired now!
