To think I should get involved in some way

Ok will try and keep this brief. DD's best friend (12) lives across the road with her mum and brother (14).
Her mum goes out most nights of the week until late and when they are home at the weekend or school holidays she goes out most of the day also, mainly to her new boyfriends house.
I had a brief chat with dd's friend today about what she had had for dinner as she was acting as if she was really hungry, grabbing at food that dd offered her, she said that she had made herself something. We then got onto the subject of how tired she was and she said it was because she had stayed awake until 11pm waiting for her mum to come home.
We have just dropped her off at her dads house, who she sees one night a week and every other weekend. Grandma has them one night on the weekend they are not at dads. We have a good relationship with both dad and grandma.
AIBU to think I should say something to someone about this or should I keep out of it?

Could the children not say anything themselves?

TBH I`m surprised they haven´t.

Can´t believe the father doesn´t know.

Father tried to get full custody but didn't get it and can only have them every other weekend and one night a week
