Aarghhh - all over the news and papers. No I am not excited that two over priviledged toffs are getting married. Don't really care and can't understand people who do really Hmm.

What does this mean for us - the people of Britain? Errr not much really.

Darn - has this already been done?

It means quite a lot for the businesses that are managing to keep their heads above water during the recession because the wedding has provided them with trade.

Georgimama · 28/04/2011 22:12

Oh bah humbug.

LadyCornyOfSilk · 28/04/2011 22:12

you care enough to start a thread on here about it

MmaIvvy · 28/04/2011 22:13

Well I was totally indifferent to it, but ALL the media crap (not the couples fault I know) is starting to turn my indifference into slight annoyance! Oh well at least this time next week we should be able to watch the news without someone banging on about it.
Mother thinks I am being awfully unbritish of course!

fivegomadindorset · 28/04/2011 22:15

Ahy start another thread, why couldn't you have joined one of the many others?

ilovesprouts · 28/04/2011 22:17

yanbu

piprabbit · 28/04/2011 22:18

I think that there are about 300 couples getting married tomorrow - perhaps we can be rude about all their weddings. Well, we don't actually know them do we?

Piggles · 28/04/2011 22:19

It is all over the TV in the US too, and is really starting to get on my nerves now too. Everywhere I go, as soon as my English accent is heard excited Americans ask me if I am looking forward to the wedding. I have now taken to saying 'what wedding?' and they look at me like I have said I eat puppies Shock

LaVraiVerite · 28/04/2011 22:19

Diana shouldn't have been murdered. She should have been allowed to bring up her boys, do what she wanted with her own life with whomever she wanted. The boys needed their mother and she was taken from them by an Establishment which couldn't contend with anyone not toeing their line ... she knew plenty about Charles & others ... there will be karma.

hmc · 28/04/2011 22:20

With you all the way OP, and particularly like smallwhitecat's observation

ilovesprouts · 28/04/2011 22:20

diana was not murded it was an accident

LaVraiVerite · 28/04/2011 22:25

yeah of course ... that's why TRJ's tongue was ripped out & it took 40 mins to drive her 8k ... I'm with Mo Al F, he's a well-informed guy !

strangetowngirl · 28/04/2011 22:28

i have to attend a street party to be neighbourly but in my opinion they're all a bunch of freeloading, horsefaced, inbred, hunting, shooting, foie-grass eating nazi-sympathisers who care a lot more about the Crown Prince of Bahrain than they do their subjects. As a fellow mumsnetter put it, it's like being fucked up the arse whilst being shown a picture of kittens. More gin and cucumber sandwiches gaston...

ilovesprouts · 28/04/2011 22:29
Hmm
CurrySpice · 28/04/2011 22:31

squeakytoy while I appreciate that some businesses in the leisure sector are making money from the wedding, very very many more (icluding mine and my clients') cannot afford to lose another trading day at a time when the economy is already on its knees.

April has only 18 business trading days fgs - many businsses will go under because they have been forced to close, yet again for this silly irrelevance Angry

CurrySpice · 28/04/2011 22:32

From that post you might deduce that I too cannot give a fuck about it

PiaThreeTimes · 28/04/2011 22:32

Grin strangetowngirl.

HarlotOTara · 28/04/2011 22:32

Flag manufacturers have done well I expect

Georgimama · 28/04/2011 22:33

Trevor Rhys Jones's tongue was ripped out? Are you completely sure about that? I thought he wrote a book about the whole thing.

Lots of MNers enjoy being fucked up the arse. There are numerous threads about it, usually on Friday nights admittedly.

exoticfruits · 28/04/2011 22:33

I think that those taking an interest are far more jolly than the sour faced brigade.
They are not complete strangers, whatever you think and whatever happens in the future, they will go down in history books and OP won't (or probably won't)
