Aarghhh - all over the news and papers. No I am not excited that two over priviledged toffs are getting married. Don't really care and can't understand people who do really Hmm.

What does this mean for us - the people of Britain? Errr not much really.

I loved the fact DD's school 'celebrated' it with a special meal, little party and all the children were encouraged to dress up- it gave a real sense of community spirit in a way, everyone sharing in the excitement of it.
If people are happy about it and find it a reason to celebrate then thats up to them but I fail to really 'care' so to speak.

FunnysInTheGarden · 28/04/2011 23:47

theinet · 28/04/2011 23:48

oh come on , get a grip. the Royal Wedding isn't a sleight on someone else's suffering. thinking it is is weird. anyway, must get some sleep. biking to The Mall tomorrow.

bemybebe · 28/04/2011 23:49

I will leave you guys now to drown in your bile. I have no interest in Kate and William and monarchy as such but I will be enjoying tomorrow. And you can sit behind your closed curtains and spit venom if you want... [cgrin]

eggsit · 28/04/2011 23:49

Have endured the playground party, celebrating some hyped-up wedding of two people I have no interest in at all. Yawn.

I think we should have a celebration to welcome each season (like a Golden Day for summer and an Emerald Day for spring) to make us more optimistic about the 3 months ahead of us.

FunnysInTheGarden · 28/04/2011 23:49

ninah*, yes I do, how did you guess?

And swc you are 'fucking weird' and a tad off the wall if I may say so.

scottishmummy · 28/04/2011 23:50

really, think you'll be hard pushed to find any scots bothered

aye, maybe the lenzie massive, or morningside blue rinses

but no one else

pigletmania · 28/04/2011 23:50

swc trust me I have had my fair share of sadness in my life, both dad and gran died of cancer, and I just needed to be distracted, if I thought about it all the time I would be 6 ft in the ground. On a psychological note, I am half way to becoming a Health Psychologist, and I have read research that cancer sufferers have more chance of recovery if they have a positive attitude, its psychosomatic.

scottishmummy · 28/04/2011 23:51

OnMeTod · 28/04/2011 23:53

piglet so if we really don't care about the royal wedding, we are negative, manically depressed, sad people. Is that what you're saying? I have enough 'distractions' in my life ta.

Thats pretty fucking insulting to all those who have lost their life to cancer Piglet- however much of a PMA they had. Its not psychosomatic at all- cancer infiltrates the body via the lymphatic system its got naff all to do with whether people enjoy a good old wedding

pigletmania · 28/04/2011 23:55

Yes you are OMT Grin so is my dm, dh.

theinet · 28/04/2011 23:55

the only reservations i have about the RW is that i think that Prince Harry would be a more fun future King!

Gemsy83 · 28/04/2011 23:56

Glad you are not my health psychologist thats for sure.

pigletmania · 28/04/2011 23:56

Nah i am just using the Royal Wedding to be patriotic, and celebrate our Britishness not necessarily because I like Wills and Kate. Its a good excuse to get together and have a good old fashioned knees up good ole British style [cgrin]
