Aarghhh - all over the news and papers. No I am not excited that two over priviledged toffs are getting married. Don't really care and can't understand people who do really Hmm.

What does this mean for us - the people of Britain? Errr not much really.

I can not believe the hysteria around this. I'm not suppose to be working but i'm going in tomorow just to avoid it.

asdx2 · 28/04/2011 23:33

Funnys how exactly does two people getting married that you don't know and who don't know you, bring something positive to your life? I must be missing something.

SWC not 'feel better' but provide distraction.

pigletmania · 28/04/2011 23:36

I agree funnys whats wrong in momentarily taking our minds off things, having a glass of wine or two and enjoying two young people getting married. I watch strangers get married every week when I watch 'Dont tell the Bride'

theinet · 28/04/2011 23:37

lol at the bitter chippy people on this thread.

enjoy it

it's a time to celebrate and be happy - take your bitter hats off. please.

swc you are deliberately misunderstanding me. The point I am making is not 'A Royal Wedding Will Make My Friend Feel Better About Her DD' but rather 'There is enough shit stuff in the world, so why try to turn a joyous occasion shit?'

And what was the phrase you were looking for BTW? Because the sentence you wrote was bollocks.

OnMeTod · 28/04/2011 23:40

Was actually wondering what was going to happen in the world tomorrow that needed to be buried in the media underneath all this wedding hysteria. Are they testing a new type of bomb? Large Hadron thingymebob going to explode? Signing up for something?

Regarding funnys friends' dc, have nobody heard of Patch Adams, a doctor who tried to help his patients with humor and laughter?

There is time and space for everything - serious stuff and a bit of light fun. Please someone tell me what day in the calendar is appropriate as a true National holiday... I think you have absolutely NOTHING. [cwink]

Gemsy83 · 28/04/2011 23:41

But why is it a 'joyous occassion' for anyone other than the bride, groom and their family?

theinet · 28/04/2011 23:42

PS I still lose a day's pay - self employed - but i don't care. I'm going to enjoy myself.

ninah · 28/04/2011 23:42

joyous occassion? wtf
it's a wedding of two dull strangers - and we're paying

usualsuspect · 28/04/2011 23:42

theinet will you lose your EMA?

I shall not be watching it. Nor shall I be attending any events in celebration of it. I do not care if that makes me a killjoy, unpatriotic or sour.

theinet · 28/04/2011 23:44

ha ha if only it was available when i was a 6th former - i had to get a part time job - and didn't moan.

also - we're not paying as far as i know. not that i would care either way.

bemybebe · 28/04/2011 23:44

swc "trust me, when you find out your child has something bad the matter with them, winning the fucking lottery wouldn't distract you."

I sincerely hope nothing challenging happens in your life, I fear you will fall at the first hurdle. having an attitude like that.

FunnysInTheGarden · 28/04/2011 23:44

so unless it is happening to you, it's not joyous? Can you not be happy for other people? or are you too self absorbed?

Seriously. Its a once in a generation event and we should all enjoy it for what it is.

scottishmummy · 28/04/2011 23:44

snigger,at the gushy sycophants.who think anything other than dripping deference is bitter. gawd heavens to betsy, how dare anyone not be peeing their pants with excitement, how did that happen?

ninah · 28/04/2011 23:46
