Aarghhh - all over the news and papers. No I am not excited that two over priviledged toffs are getting married. Don't really care and can't understand people who do really Hmm.

What does this mean for us - the people of Britain? Errr not much really.

If you are not interested don't watch.

Whether you like it or not there are PLENTY of people who are interested so let them have their fun.

Personally I don't give a fig about the Royals in general but love an excuse for a big OTT wedding celebration, it is one of the few things Britain does better than any other country!

The whole world is watching so let's hope it is a good show.

PiaThreeTimes · 28/04/2011 22:35

Of course they're complete strangers to us, exoticfruits.

Unless you feel that by watching them on the telly and seeing their mugs in the press, you actually have some sort of friendship going on???

hmc · 28/04/2011 22:36

I like to take the opportunity to tell you to fuck off exoticfruits - my political convictions are not to be dismissed as "sour faced" - how facile and how arrogant of you in equal parts

ilovesprouts · 28/04/2011 22:39

i wish them well but wont be watching it has my son watchers bloody cartoons all day and kicks off big time if tv get turned over :(

PiaThreeTimes · 28/04/2011 22:40

I'm not sour faced (sometimes), when it comes to people I actually know having a celebration. That tends not to dominate the media for weeks. I actually get something out of those events (usually a hangover).

GwendolineMaryLacey · 28/04/2011 22:41

Yeah yeah yeah you're so cool and uncaring, we know. MN has been full of people professing (too much?) about how they couldnt give a shit. What makes you think anyone gives a shit that you don't give a shit? These threads are duller than the wedding itself. Well done. Now shut up about it.

AprilRose · 28/04/2011 22:42

TBH I'd be more interested if a) I was planning a wedding and b) had many many millions to spend... As it is, I'm nowhere near needing wedding inspiration so I won't be watching (if it stays dry I'll be weeding, which is close in spelling at least...)

I'll probably check out the pictures, etc, just to have a look see at the pomp and the sparkly stuff and to gawp at Harry in his military togs

PiaThreeTimes · 28/04/2011 22:43

So, why post on them, Gwendonline? You're so cool and uncaring about our viewpoints.

piprabbit · 28/04/2011 22:43

I won't have a hangover on Saturday. Oh no, not me. Won't be touching a drop. No siree.

exoticfruits · 28/04/2011 22:44

It isn't something that really bothers me-I will watch highlights. I just fed up with the carping and the sheer misery in it all. They are famous historical figures and always will be-even if the monarchy doesn't survive- they will be history-you can't airbrush out people you don't approve of. They have the same place in history as Henry VIII, GeorgeII, Edward I etc.

LauraNorder · 28/04/2011 22:44

YABU and I don't give a shit that you don't give shit and while you might not give a shit that I don't give a shit that you don't give a shit - I don't give a shit and will be watching in the morning! [cgrin]

nepenthe3 · 28/04/2011 22:44

YANBU, and I am not miserable or sour faced.

exoticfruits · 28/04/2011 22:45

I love a good wedding anyway-even if I just pass oe in the car.

Georgimama · 28/04/2011 22:45

I'd love to piprabbit, but I'm pregnant.

exoticfruits · 28/04/2011 22:47

I think that the sour faced brigade will find themselves in the minority tomorow. I would much rather raise a Wine and wish them happiness.
It looks good fun out on the streets!

Cheers to you too piprabbit.

catchmeifyoucan · 28/04/2011 22:52

I so agree with Gwendoline. Who do you suppose gives a low flying fuck whether you care about the wedding or not? Or are you just trying to establish your credentials as a unreconstructed muesli chewing Guardian reading right on liberal? Whatever your reason this thread is neither informative or original and so.............
