To phone the midwife? (TMI ALERT)

Okay, so this morning when I got up and went to the toilet I had some horrible cramps but also had some toilet issues so put it down to that.

Went to the bathroom just there and was shaving and while feeling about to make sure I hadn't cut myself I had felt something a bit strange.(btw no idea how I even ended up feeling there) The kind of roof of my vagina seemed to be low down, as if it was making everything alot tighter? :S

So had a little inspection and found that my cervix does not feel in any way like it normally does. Much softer and more kind of blending in with the rest of my vagina.

Sorry for posting this here as I know this is probably the wrong place but desperate for advice quickly.

Please tell me IABU and I have nothing to worry about!

Btw I am 16+2.

Def phone the midwife, even if it is just for reassurance.

cestlavielife · 27/04/2011 15:52

if you worried call the midwife. i am sure she will reassure you

Flisspaps · 27/04/2011 15:53

If you are worried, call the MW. Better for you to call and it to be nothing at all, than for you to sit there stewing, or not mention it and it turn out to be something that needs investigating.

NotShortImFunSized · 27/04/2011 15:53

Ring the MW, she will be only to happy to check you over.
If you are worried about anything in pregnancy then you always have a valid reason to ring MW.

Hope everything is ok.

onehotmomma · 27/04/2011 15:54

ring the midwife if you are concerned. I'm pretty sure the cervix closes up temporarily whilst pregnant to stop any infection

strawberrymewmew · 27/04/2011 16:03

Thanks, just tried to call and number was engaged, I will keep trying.

If you can't get through to your MW, try calling your local Early Pregnancy Unit as you may well be able to get some advice from one of the nurses there.

Thanks everyone today for putting up with my paranoia.

Got sent to pregnancy assesment and everything turned out to be fine. :)

Plus side though, I got to hear my baby's heartbeat for the first time!
