write "vair" instead if "very"? Go on, enlighten me I don't get it.

OP posts:
usualsuspect · 25/04/2011 14:19

Because its vair posh innit

MotherMucca · 25/04/2011 14:21

Say "vair" and "very" aloud.

It's the spelling of the posh pronunciation, innit.

BeakerTheMuppetMuppet · 25/04/2011 14:21

cos is posh innit?

i haven't seen it much on here, but have been known to use it on certain social networking sites when am taking the piss admiring something poncey

Grin
BeakerTheMuppetMuppet · 25/04/2011 14:21

Pagwatch · 25/04/2011 14:21

HecateQueenOfTheNight · 25/04/2011 14:21

It's possibly one of the little injokes, you know, little mn lingo jokes or if not jokes, erm, what's the word I'm looking for Hmm

like
fanjo
how very dare you
daily fail

etc etc

MotherMucca · 25/04/2011 14:21

Xpost. I am too slow for MN!

hairylights · 25/04/2011 14:23

Is "very" said in a posh accent meant to be amusing? Confused

OP posts:
BeakerTheMuppetMuppet · 25/04/2011 14:24

Pag

if you was raally raally vair 'posh' you'd spell it 'poAsh'

like poach, but not

anthat

hairylights · 25/04/2011 14:27

"poshe" innit?

OP posts:
SkinittingFluffyBunnyBonnets · 25/04/2011 14:30

It's neither Poshe nor Poash. A really posh person would say Posh.

Goblinchild · 25/04/2011 14:31

A really posh person doesn't use the word at all.

TethersEnd · 25/04/2011 14:32

A really posh person would consider the very notion of 'posh' vulgar.

They'd be all hoighty-toighty like.

TethersEnd · 25/04/2011 14:33

brilliant xpost Goblin Grin

whatsallthehullaballoo · 25/04/2011 14:33

Hairy
Most things can be amusing in the right context. I am sure "air" could be used to comedic effect by someone with a decent line in humour.

It is hard to think of things that could never ever ever be amusing tbh. Yet funnily enough some people can make the funniest thing fucking dull.
Life is peculiar

I get it now. But only in the context of where poshness is relevant. Perhaps I'm humourless but it feels a bit like an over done "in" joke when used more liberally.

OP posts:
Pagwatch · 25/04/2011 16:52

nah, you are right
amything overdone gets tiring

i find dull

SwearyMary · 25/04/2011 21:21

I am so vair poshe and love a bit of poncey poshness. As my RL friends will concur...

BeakerTheMuppetMuppet · 25/04/2011 21:24

i thought people on this sort of thing were sad loners with NO RL

Hmm Grin

(no there's an in-joke to worry about)

SwearyMary · 25/04/2011 21:32

I have a RL, it just operates part time. The rest of the time my life is a big fat fantasy involving castles and knights anthat.
