ILs taking advantage

My ILs are off on holiday tomorrow and asked if they could spend a couple of days here, leave their car with us and get a taxi to the airport.

On Thursday they said they would be coming on Sunday morning instead.

This morning MIL phoned up to say the'd be arriving after lunch and at 3pm I got a phonecall saying they'd be here by 6pm. We've been in all day and I feel like they don't really want to see the kids. I feel used!

Eh?
They have revised it from a few days to one night?
Sounds great!
A nice dinner and a catch up then they clear orf.
What is not to like?

fivegomadindorset · 24/04/2011 17:13

I wouldn't say they are taking advantage but I would very pissed off with all the time changes, especially today.

barbie007 · 24/04/2011 17:14

moondog you have a point....I hadn't thought of it like that. I guess I'm just p**d off about being in all day waiting for them....

The less time they are at yours surely the better?

I would have said though, we have waited in all day so have not been able to take the kids out.

Bogeyface · 24/04/2011 17:29

Its one of those tough ones isnt it?

On the one hand its a win as they are at yours for less time but on the other it is very inconsiderate to keep changing the time on you.

I would make the point when they get there that you had waited in all day for them, and then count my blessings!

Rude to change arrangements at the last minute IMO. Agree with Fabby and Bogey
