ok, so I know I am but 14 year old DS is huddled in chair reading his Easter book and refusing all offers to share my Easter egg as 'it's too early to be eating chocolate'. He's making me feel v guilty as he eats his weetabix and fruit and keeps asking if I want something 'proper' for breakfast [bublush]

YABVU what an unhealthy message you are giving him!

worraliberty · 24/04/2011 11:00

Ewww I'm with him on that one!

penguin73 · 24/04/2011 11:01

I know, but choc for breakfast one day a year surely wont harm someone who does football/distance running/martial arts and has an otherwise healthy diet?!

No I'm sure it wouldn't!

But the thought is making me a little sick lol

YANBU - your post was posted at almost 11am. Perfectly acceptable time to eat chocolate.

FabbyChic · 24/04/2011 11:13

Top marks for your son, it is too early to eat chocolate. He obviously has a better idea about healthy eating than you do.

TrillianAstra · 24/04/2011 11:50

If he doesn't want the chocolate then maybe he should give it to you.....

Don't understand this fuss about "healthy eating". Chocolate is no more or less healthy in the afternoon than it is in the morning!

penguin73 · 24/04/2011 11:51

Fabbychic that's harsh and unreasonable! Having choc once in a while at 11am does not mean we have unhealthy diets!!!!!

yanbu, christmas and easter are the two days you are allowed to eat chocolate for breakfast, DP said the same thing this morning whilst eating his weetabix, I am currently enjoying my egg for breakfast :o

MissPaintyOeuf · 24/04/2011 11:57

11am is not too early for chocolate! Breakfast sets you up for the day however, so he's got the right idea by eating something nutritious first, then chocolate later.

I can't really criticise; I had a huuuuge croissant with egg mayonnaise and bacon for my breakfast. I did run 4 miles beforehand though.

EGGceptionalbeEGGleeyes · 24/04/2011 12:38

It's Easter Sunday, of course you eat chocolate for breakfast [busmile].
My 15 year old ds is still in his bed and I want the Easter egg he has bought me under my strict instructions
I'm going to wake him up in a minute.

OryxCrake · 24/04/2011 12:43

Chocolate for breakfast at 9am here. Yum! Well, it's once a year and I've been out for a brisk walk since...

One DC had a normal breakfast followed by chocolate, the other just had a chocolate egg. Both fine by me today.

bananasinpjamas · 24/04/2011 12:46

I was like that :) Easter eggs are not to be eaten until Easter weekend earliest! Used to drive my mum mad...same with xmas/birthday pressies "its on the wrong day!".

SkinittingFluffyBunnyBonnets · 24/04/2011 12:47

aw penguin...you make him sound like Adrian Mole! Grin Leave him be...he sounds like DH and lot's of guys...theyr'e not that sweet toothed!

Seona1973 · 24/04/2011 12:48

we had breakfast earlier and then chocolate later on - ds just had some smarties and dd gave up half way through her second small caramel egg. I had some yummy green and blacks egg.
