To still wonder why Take That had Robbie back?

what was in it for them? Listening to the new album today - I like it, but it's all Robbie singing - what did they gain, when they were a lady very successful before?

Dosh. And PR. OR maybe they just love the boy.

coralpink · 22/04/2011 18:58

Its all about the pennies. Much much prefered them without Robbie, he is just all ego - which doesn't work in a band!

gkys · 22/04/2011 18:59

to put the world to rights, [bugrin]

Generate more interest, keep things fresh and interesting, sell out a massive tour and perhaps from an artistic point of view they wanted to complete the circle as it were. IMO Take That has always been greater than the sum of its parts. Either way I think Robbie has just added to what was already great and their new album is fab. Can't wait to go see them in June!

manticlimactic · 22/04/2011 19:04

I went off TT as soon as he rejoined, never really been a fan of his. Glad I didn't buy the album as most of the released songs seem to feature him in them heavily. Can't stand the smug git.

CareyFakes · 22/04/2011 19:18

I was never into TT originally (too absorbed in my self loathing teenage greasy phase) but got taken to their tour in 2007 and couldn't fault them, amazing live, great songs.

Not sure what Robbie brings to the table really other than the chance to sell out arenas and bring in the mulla. Robbie is a bit of a nob IMO

AmyStake · 22/04/2011 20:59

Robbie needs Take That, Take That don't need Robbie.

I don't know why the hell they had him back. Guess both parties thought it would be mutually beneficial?

I think they were better as a 4 piece.

alistron1 · 22/04/2011 21:04

Take That were shit in 1993. With or without Robbie. I find it embarrassing that women of my age (37) still wet their pants over that dross.

TheOriginalNutcracker · 22/04/2011 21:09

It won't stay like this. I am certain Robbie will leave again after the tour, and thats fine.

I am a huge fan rom back in the day and now, but even I know that they are all in it for the money.

They will have a fab tour, I will wet myself over Robbies appearance and then things will all go back to normal and I will wet myself over Gary instead, simples.

I actually saw TT in 1994 (took my little sister)... the memories of that evening still chill me to the bone.

WannabeNigella · 22/04/2011 21:11

Robbie needs Take That? What a load of rubbish. He is far richer than any of them so didn't "need" to rejoin them at all. And if it was the case that TT didn't want him as it was all one sided cause he supposedly "needed" them, do you think they'd have had him???

Likewise TT didn't "need" Robbie. Money was definitely a huge part in my opinion, however I also think that they are all so incredibly rich that it isn't just down to that and they had some demons they needed to lay to rest.

Robbie wrote nearly all the lyrics on the new album so he isn't just the "fat one" so many make out.

GypsyMoth · 22/04/2011 21:51

i agree nigella...

robbie will leave after the tour as i'm sure he'll be about to be a daddy by then!

FreudianSlipper · 22/04/2011 21:59

could be for his endless supply of drugs :o

i cringe too when women my age (late 30's) go silly over them and gary is not a great songwriter, he is ok but not great. i think there best song is could it be magic which barry manilow wrote
