To want to shove his testicles....

....down his throat before I tell my ExH why it was a really fucking stupid idea not to read the dosage on DS's antibiotics and OD him. Or should I ram them down his throat first so his weasly excuses are comfortingly muffled by his own man bag.

Don't want to drip feed so here's the back story:
DS(4yo) had to go to A&E on Sunday with a temp of 40degrees. He has a throat infection and is on antibiotics. Stupid waste of organs and oxygen picked him up today. I told him when antibiotics were to be administered. There was a 2.5ml syringe in the box. He glanced at the bottle and decided that the dosage was 2x5ml four times a day.

Have been on the phone to the doctor, she checked with the Poisoning Centre and eventually got back saying that as long as he was not showing symptoms of allergy (rash, swelling, vomitting) he should be fine.

I called Stupid and gave him the info and he said "What? No bollocking?" I told him that my relief and the fact that DS is with him prevents me from bollocking him now, however he will be absolutely bollocked tomorrow night.

Anyway, AIBU in wanting to kill him?

OK I know it's a rant but I am fuming.

YANBU he is a dick if he can't give his child the correct doisage, it's so important!

Glad you're ds is okay.

YANBU

With hindsight he should have stayed with you while he was ill. At least you know for next time. Did you explain to him how much and how often to give it?

DioneTheDiabolist · 14/04/2011 23:55

That's what's bothering me. He won't even take a paracetemol for a headache but he didn't bother reading the label on the bottle. When he told me, he made out (after I made him read the label to me) that because it was hand-written he was just mistaken.

But he wasn't just mistaken. Was he?

You knowingly gave the kid to stupid. You might want to sort it out between you.

HeadfirstForHalos · 14/04/2011 23:58

The doisage? Looks like I can't get the dosage correct either!

A1980 · 15/04/2011 00:00

"He won't even take a paracetemol for a headache"

If he doesn't "do" meds then maybe you should have told him how much and when rather than trusting him to read it and get it right.

he sounds like an idiot.

blackeyedsusan · 15/04/2011 00:14

does he make mistakes often?

you are luck it was antibiotics and not paracetamol...

Do not let him give paracetamol.
