to wonder why not everyone uses flushable nappy liners?

why don't they? Is it not better/ more pleasant to flush away the contents of a nappy than to leave it festering in a bin?

I started using them with dc1 to making washing cloth nappies easier but even once I'd given up Wink on cloth with dc3, I kept using liners because, well, it just makes sense doesn't it?

Doesn't it?

Am I missing something?

In Australia you have to flush the poo down the loo!

ah, well that's where I'm from. Must be inbuilt Wink

Don't they clog the drains? I have been reliably informed never to flush anything "flushable" including loo wipes and face wipes as they really clog up the drains and the machinery at the sewage works also struggle with it as they do with thick "luxury" type loo roll as well.

Personally as a disposable user I would always flush chunks of poo down the loo, but if it was stuck, then no....

What????

Never used cloth nappies but surely you flush the solid bits of waste away regardless of liner type?

dionysia · 13/04/2011 21:02

because the shower reaches the loo, so i can wash poo down the loo off the reusable.

Because they are a bit flimsy, are an ongoing cost and a bit pointless? I bought some this time round and have used one, would you like the rest of mine? I'd be happy to post them to someone who's going to use them.

Anything solid can be put down the toilet with washable liners and anything a bit more liquid is going to be on the nappies anyway. My machine takes care of the washing and so far it's doing a good job.

I have never seen anyone flush poo from a disposable, and think it a bit manky but tend not to say anything about it
