So what is so bad about them? And yes, this is a thread about a thread that was about a thread.

Can't see the problem really. Free world and all that. I find threads about threads interesting (sometimes). Who decides that it's bad form? The mysterious MN police?

Every thread is about a thread in some way. Mainly because if you're on a thread and someone makes a comment or mentions a particular topic, some one else can think ""hmm good point. I am going to start a thread about that," you see it all the time on MN. Some one starts a thread on "isn't porn evil" and the someone starts a thread on "so if porn were illegal, what would the punishment be?"

required etiquette
if you have an issue discuss it on the thread or leave it be.

if you are bested or get a flaming, lick your internet wounds and move on

it's the same as people reading through posters old posts and quoting them anew
