me and df took out the policy together, i have depression which i declared.

just got the policy through the post, and on mine there is Special provisions.

we will not pay a premium protection claim, if it arises drectly or indirectly from the following :
depression, bipolar, anxiety any stress related disorder or any mental or functional nervous disorder.

i now am consider if life insurance is worth it, if the worse happens, i now got visions of my kids being left without a mother and my df struggling finacally because they wont pay out.

Life insurance is worth it basically if you commit suicide because you are depressed they wont pay out. No one dies from a mental illness unless they top themselves.

Makes sense there has to be some exclusions and they generally always relate to existing problems.

Your usual blunt style I see Fabby :o but yes, agree with all that.

I agree, too.

have another read OP- you may have misunderstood. a premium protection claim is sometimes called a waiver of premium. what this means it that whilst the life policy only pays out when you die, there is special provision so that if you are too ill to carry on paying the premiums, the insurance company will do so.

its to avoid people paying life insurance premiums for years, falling ill and then missing a few payments and losing the value of the policy.

It DOES NOT mean that you aren't covered if you die from one of the things mentioned. like i say, have another read through the documents.
