Just another controversial rant

Parking in primary schools is always limited, at my DS's school people decode to double park and block others in if they don't turn up early enough. Community police do random checks and move people on and get ranted at by parents who are being moved.

I always turn up early to get a space and my DS is let out early due to his special needs and I regularly find myself blocked in by someone and having to wait ages with a screaming child till they come back from picking up at the normal times.

For this reason I was really pleased to be told DS would be awarded a blue badge as he is now on high rate mobility allowance as I can park in the disabled space which is further away but noone will block me in.

However I won't use this space yet (although almost entitled just waiting to receive the badge) as I haven't got the badge yet. But it frustrates me when I walk past parents who I know have perfectly healthy children and are healthy themselves with no blue badge using the disabled space.

Just a rant, sorry.

You are right to rant. I had a rant a couple of weeks ago at DDs school. There is really limited parking and the staff aren't supposed to park in any of the bays (space for around 40 cars). Inevitably they do.
I drop DH off at around 7.40 then come home for DD. I saw one woman taking up three spaces so got out and had a word with her about it. DH was very embarrassed and she couldn't give a toss.
The staff do have their own car park but it is about a four minute walk.

YANBU - I totally agree with you.....and if you park in her space shame on you!

Thanks everyone. It annoys me because in the mornings DS goes to breakfast club and goes in through the main entrance, at this time it would be so much easier for me to park in the disabled bay but I won't until DS gets his badge. But other people seem to have no problems doing it.

Note during breakfast club drop off there is plenty of parking spaces
