Short sleeved cardigans? Especially thick, heavy ones?

I'm mean if it is cold enough to want to wear a cardi, surely your arms will get cold? Confused

Oh am i just deeply unfashionable (actually I probably am Grin)

I don't get peeptoe boots, for the same reason.

deemented · 06/04/2011 12:29

YANBU.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 06/04/2011 12:34

Hooray I am not alone!

Yes peeptoe boots? Who the hell thought of them?

I like them, but I hate getting wet cuffs and permanently have sleeves rolled up if I wear anything with long sleeves.

ConstanceFelicity · 06/04/2011 12:36

I agree. I think, ladies, that we are entering our middle ages ;)

ilovecrispsandwiches · 06/04/2011 12:37

i was rescued by a short sleeved thin black cardi (one without buttons) last summer, it hid my leftover baby weight around my hips :) i wore a vest top or similar underneath. it saved me having to frump around in a jumper all summer. this summer i will have a pregnant belly so no hiding- woohoo! :)

Cantstopshouting · 06/04/2011 12:38

YANBU. I don't get them either especially for kids. If it's warm it's warm, if it's cold it's cold.

3/4 length sleeved ones are great as, no wet cuff but short sleeved cardi's are about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Same as short sleeved or sleeveless jumpers, madness!

madonnawhore · 06/04/2011 12:39

I have weird proportions and think I look odd unless I roll sleeves up to 3/4 length. So I don't mind them.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 06/04/2011 12:39

Ahh but with long sleeves you can do that and then you roll them down when your arms get cold!

You can layer short sleeve cardi/long sleeve top underneath. Looks quite cute.

sharbie · 06/04/2011 12:49

i had one a few years ago - everywhere i went wearing it i felt like i was in an old ladies bedjacket

backwardpossom · 06/04/2011 12:53

I wear a thin long sleeved top underneath them. Looks good, IMO. YABU.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 06/04/2011 13:00

I've never seen one Blush

Desperateforthinnerthighs · 06/04/2011 13:21

Short sleeved cardis get right on my nerves.....yes yes yes, I know we are supposed to layer but come on...just increases the laundry!!

I want a cardi with long sleeves, old fart that I am.

YANBU - I'm with ya Smile

BeanaReena · 11/04/2011 16:29

YANBU - I always think exactly the same. :)

TragicallyHip · 11/04/2011 16:34

I am wearing a thickish 3/4 length cardi! Grin

I always push my sleeves up so this length is perfect for me!

TragicallyHip · 11/04/2011 16:35

That would be 3/4 length sleeve cardi

BikeRunSki · 11/04/2011 16:44

I don't get cotton jumpers for the same reason.

Cotton = cool
Jumper = want to warm up

Insomnia11 · 11/04/2011 16:55

I am wearing a 3/4 sleeved cardi due to not being able to find anything else at the time other than this - in winter FFS!

What I hate about 3/4 sleeves is that they ruche up when you put a coat on and I have to do hand contortions to keep hold of the sleeves to stop them disappearing and making an 'attractive' lump at the top of my arms.

Cotton jumpers can be quite warm, depends what you wear underneath. It's amazing how hard it can be to find attractive warm clothing in the middle of winter. My cardi is just right at the moment though.
