Pens. I can never find a pen in this house, despite regularly buying boxes of 5000 black biros. When I need one all I can find is a pink felt pen or a whiteboard marker, neither of which are suitable for school permission slips Angry Confused Angry

and hairbands. I have a crate for hair stuff. the hairbands should live in the crate. on the odd occasion when I need a band do you think they are n the crate? Angry.

where are they?

I probably have all your pens. I have a bad habit of running off with other people's, currently have about 12 in my handbag Blush.

Don't have your hairbands though, or mine, they've all disappeared too.

Hands up who has all our hairbands please. I will swap for some (slightly chewed) pens.

AtYourCervix · 04/04/2011 18:07

I have 2 permission slips and a passport form to finish.

I NEED A PEN

socks are the worst, i also have the problem with pens.

CurrySpice · 04/04/2011 18:16

You've turned into your mother OP :o

AtYourCervix · 04/04/2011 18:26

I have not! In my day you could find things where they shoud be. A place for everthing and everything in its place. Trouble with this throwaway society... When I was a child I was made to look afer pens and hairbands.
I'm sure I told you that last week, I told someone anyway. DD1, DD2, DD3, DD4 whateveryournameis.......

they will be in a safe place, which is so safe you will never find them again.I have lots of things in my safe place ,now if I could just remember where it is.

HipHopopotomus · 04/04/2011 21:40

The op will turn into her mum when she gets one of those pens on a string and WEARS it! (but you know it makes sense :)

Our pens are elsewhere too - I can only find coloured pencils, usually in need of a sharpen.

shakey1500 · 04/04/2011 21:47

I currently have 7 odd socks positively pining for their partners. They have simply vanished and I haven't the heart to tell them. Run off with the pens no doubt and partying on some hedonistic island catering for sock and pen perverseness.

golemmings · 05/04/2011 14:28

I have hair bands. I could never find any when my hair was long; now its an inch long I have loads of the things and at the rate they seem to be appearing I'm worried that dd will try eating one and choke or we'll all be smothered by them.

I also have an orange felt tip and a blunt pencil...

Lawm01 · 05/04/2011 14:46

I've got the hairbands. They're wrapped around the belt of my hoover. grr.

But I haven't got the pens. I can lend you a pink, yellow or blue highlighter. None of them work, but they're in the pen pot if you need them.

Has anyone seen my fish slice?

Maybe I should follow my mum's example and pop useful, often lost things up my sleeve for safekeeping.

knittedbreast · 05/04/2011 14:48

same here. i have no pens, no socks for the children and all my knickers have gone.

off to primark to buy more socks tomorrow. im not paying for quality socks when they are lost the next day

RhiRhi123 · 05/04/2011 14:52

And the little kirby hair grips I buy boxes of them and they vanish! Confused

bentneckwine1 · 05/04/2011 16:49

teaspoons...ds takes them to school in his packed lunch box....never seen again!

Oh and the two mothers day cards I bought weeks and weeks ago because my gran likes cards with lovely words - no sign of them on Sunday and I had to nip to Tesco and replace them!

HipHopopotomus · 05/04/2011 17:34

plastic boxes with lids - I only buy the cheapish ones from IKEA (not tupperware) but still I NEVER have any. Either bottoms or tops, never both. I buy news ones quite regularly - I think DP eats them.

aliceliddell · 05/04/2011 17:43

good grief! Have none of you read"The Borrowers"?

blondebutonlyfaking · 05/04/2011 17:50

I buy plastic teaspoons for sending to school in lunchboxes.

My metal teaspoon stash is intact now Grin

I have no pens. Well, I have two sharpies, a cd marker and some squished felt pens.

I'll swap anyone 4 odd socks that are sitting in my laundry basket since the dawn of time.

MrsBloomingTroll · 05/04/2011 17:51

No luck with pens here either...I admitted defeat yesterday and bought a load more. I suspect that DH has been taking them to work.

If anyone can tell me where about half of my DD's Duplo and one of her cutlery sets and a beaker have gone, I'd appreciate it (although I reserve the right to continue to blame MIL for mixing them up with her other GC's).
