Is a bulldog, it stinks, not just doggy smell but if anyone is familiar with the breed they have a very distinctive smell to them (I've smelled it on every bull dog I've ever come across including the one they used to have) it's offensive, it puts me off my cup of tea it's so bad. It drolls and shakes it all over you. My kids come home stinking of it.

I don't really have an AIBU question to put to you because I can't expect them to put the big stinky thing outside just because we're there but urghhhh I can still smell it from yesterday.

Exactly Bottle - I have parrots and they can be little sods - hence they are kept in cages when visitors are round. Other wise they are out and about most of the time. I could let them roam free, chew up visitors clothes and belongings, have a sly nip every now and then, but I don't out of common courtesy to guests. It is the same with most pets - Gerry the Gerbil doesn't get to drool and crap his way over visitors, so why should dogs? As for them not being offensive to the nose - you can always tell when someone has a pet dog (or any other animal for that matter). There is a distinctive aroma which is not always pleasant.

YANBU
I have stopped going to my ils because of their stinking grotty dog.

I havent been fior about 3 years now.

When i say i cant abide dogs it gets nowhere close to describing my hate for them. I will cross the road if i see one of any size or description coming towards me.
The smell makes me want to be sick and what did it for me, was the dog hairs hanging from the cup as it sat beside me on the sofa breathing its stink all over me. "just being friendly" my arse, get the thing away from me.
left and have never been back, dont think i will till the damned thing is dead.

Dog owners/lovers will never ever get this, they get defensive and argue about how wonderful dogs are, im sorry but dont waste your breath with me.
To the OP i see your pov, and i agree with everything you say.

If what i say offends you, then i make no apologies because what you say about how wonderful and clean dogs are offends me. because they are not.
