I love the Ds passionately but my god they can be unutterably vile sometimes.

SO having handed over the gifts, sulked through church and come home in raging foul moods I am tempted to drive off and leave them to it.

I shall go and buy myself a good book and go and find somewhere picturesque to read it. IN PEACE.

ANd when I get home I expect the house to be tidier than it is now.

sounds good to me!!!

Maelstrom · 03/04/2011 11:42

I think that is an excellent idea. the house getting tidier during your absence it is an unlikely expectation though.

MorticiaAddams · 03/04/2011 11:43

Sounds perfect.

AtYourCervix · 03/04/2011 11:44

i also expect homework to be finished, rooms tidied and a decent meal waiting for me.

Yanbu. I've actually had a lovely morning and am looking fwd to afternoon in park and visiting mil and dp's family, but secretly I'd love to slope off for a rare spot of solo shopping and take myself out for lunch.

Hope your day improves whatever you do

Maelstrom · 03/04/2011 11:46

Just go out, get your book, have some peace, and ... turn the lights off when you come back. No expectations, no problem.

Maelstrom · 03/04/2011 11:47

I like that phrase... "Take myself out for lunch" :)

HipHopopotomus · 03/04/2011 11:50

The act is even better than the phrase maelstrom :)

AtYourCervix · 03/04/2011 11:50

Well if they've been vile - that's a bit off. So perhaps you should go our and find some peace - it is YOUR day.

Mine - I must admit are quite attentive on Mother's Day - they're probably older than yours though.

choceyes · 03/04/2011 12:20

I'm going to do the same! Although won't be for long cos DD will need to be fed. I intend to enjoy my lunch while I can"!
