Or Have I Just Got A SOH Failure

I'm not a huge "April Fools" fan - never been much of a one for practical jokes.

2 people announced their pregnancies on Facebook today to me. 2 other people told me they were moving to the other side of the world.

All of them were April fools...1 of the pregnancies certainly didn;t work as a joke because frankly no-one was at all surprised she was announcing another pregnancy as we have been expecting it for years. Some of the comments about moving to the other side of the world both upset some people and elated others (in a good way - someone said she was going back to Australia and all her friends still on Oz were thrilled).

Am I just crap that I didn;t find any of these 4 April Fools remotely funny...

(I'm happy to accept that I'm just crap BTW - I've had a sinus infection for a month and these antibiotics and sinus rinses aren't shifting it, my DH is out getting drunk and we had a farewell party for a friend today who really IS moving to the other side of the world, so I'm happy to be told I'm just ill, tired and crabbit)

Yanbu April Fool's is a pile of shite

MirandaGoshawk · 01/04/2011 21:03

YANBU. Those two example aren't subtle or clever in the way that April Fools' jokes have to be, so that you're taken in despite finding it hard to believe.

I agree that it's not funny when it sucks people in and causes distress - this was done on 'ahem' another site today, and people posted who had obviously believed the OP. I think it then can be embarassing.
If it's obviously a prank, and funny, and has clues then that's a bit different.

In fact, it's a bit manipulative, and in some cases may even be bordering on passive-aggressive.

Thanks - good to know it wasn't just a sense of humour failure!!!

Nope, completely unimaginative.

Now, swapping all the DC between beds in the middle of the night, that's funny.
