We all complain about the greed of the big banks and their part in causing the economic mess we're in, but it would be good if we all voted with our feet and move to ethical banks such as the Co-op, or a Building Society such as the Nationwide.
It would also be good to help boost employment by buying, where possible, British made products, and using insurance companies which have UK only call centres.

it's the bank's fault your daughter used your card and you went overdrawn?

I think that shows what caused alot of problems in the first place - the bank let us have a mortgage we couldn't afford, the bank let us run up £££ of debt on credit cards that we can't aford to pay off. I think it's about time we all took responsibility for our own actions.

That asideI do agree with the idea of the op, if you don't like the way a company works don't use it.
