Got home from work and was playing with DD while dinner was on. went to drain potatoes (so DH could eat early as he wanted to head to the gym). God knows how but spilled boiled water all down my thigh - cue worst pain I've ever had. DH "what did you do that for, boiling water is hot you know" I hauled my tights off and ran upstairs to run leg under water in the shower. 15mins later still no DH so I yell for him to bring me some painkillers (by this point I am sobbing in pain) he apears "why are you crying?" (durrrrrr) and then when I asked what he'd been up to whilst I was sobbing upstairs he said "well I was eating my dinner so it didn't get cold"

aaarrrghhh. fortunately I work in healthcare and work colleague was still there at 1850 and have cobbled together aressing for it but bang goes gym session tomorrow and taking DD swimming as I think it'll take a while to heal and lots of dressing

DH did eventually give me a big hug, find drugs and bath DD so maybe he's not all bad but I was so so mad

:( *passes something heavy for u to hit dp with..........

mycatoscar · 21/03/2011 20:43

sounds like he genuinely didnt realise how bad it was? (hopes)

AgentZigzag · 21/03/2011 20:44

Course you're NBU!

He sounds like the kind of person who doesn't believe the expression of pain/illness if he can't feel it himself.

My DH is the same Hmm

He's better when I've said he's doing it because he genuinely doesn't notice, or doesn't know what it is he's supposed to be doing ie showing he cares.

You poor thing, how's your leg now?

RunAwayWife · 21/03/2011 20:54

Your DH is a twat.

Hope you are better soon
