to cook meatballs for dinner?

DH has come home from work rather tired and he went mad when he realised that dinner was turkey meatballs with mash and veg.

He is a proper carnivore and he thinks that 'it's silly' to eat meatballs for dinner?

We didn't row or anything but I was like 'Well, defrost the chicken and cook it yourself!' Grin

When should you eat meatballs then ?
Serve yours up and leave his if its that silly

leafinthewind · 09/03/2011 20:08

You cooked dinner and he kicked off? It goes in the dog and he gets to wash up. Gavel!

rubyslippers · 09/03/2011 20:08

How is turkey that much different from chicken?

Your H sounds a bit bonkers

OliPolly · 09/03/2011 20:09

He is bonkers today tbh! In the end, he ate them anyway and cleared his plate!

Eh?!

Meatballs for breakfast sounds silly to me, nothing wrong with having them for dinner.

Tell him you're looking forward to him cooking the chicken for dinner tomorrow night Wink

usualsuspect · 09/03/2011 20:11

Tell him to cook his own fucking dinner then

TrillianAstra · 09/03/2011 20:13

Meatballs for dinner = good

Meatballs with mash = weird

Loshad · 09/03/2011 20:13

eh?? he's either over stressed or a total arsehole

usualsuspect · 09/03/2011 20:15

God I hate the he went mad bollocks seriously my dp would be wearing the meatballs if he went mad about it

TragicallyHip · 09/03/2011 20:18

WTF does he think turkey is? Confused

Agree meatballs with mash is wrong!

OliPolly · 09/03/2011 20:18

Loshad - he is not stressed no, just had a bad day.

We didn't fight, it's no big issue - was just checking if meatballs are not 'meaty' enough! He probably had visions of a steak!

Trillian - it was alright! I didn't have spaghetti so improvised! Veg was leek and all that yummy cabbagey stuff.

Well, kids ate it alright!

probably exaggerated on the 'mad' bit!

ok Grin

I love meatballs and mash Blush

GetOrfMoiLand · 09/03/2011 20:21

I can't imagine DP going mad at something I cooked. Yes he can have an opinion on something I cook, however if he went mad at me for cooking something perfectly edible (even if he didn't really like it) I would be absolutely staggered. It's bloody disrespectful.

GetOrfMoiLand · 09/03/2011 20:22

Mind you, I don't like meatballs. They look like scrota scrotums testicles.

OliPolly · 09/03/2011 20:23

I avoid tolerate his cooking, he is good at BBQs

I cook spicy chicken meatballs in a sauce made of diced tomatoes, peppers, onions and chili pepper. I make it spicy and hot, and serve with mash and some veggies. We all love it.

microserf · 09/03/2011 21:09

god, my dh is thrilled when he gets actual cooking (which i define as=heat applied to raw meat).

iscream, your recipe sounds delicious, is it on the site? perhaps can impress dh for once.

OP, your DP is out of line. we're both proper carnivores, and that sounds like a great meal to us.

BuzzLiteBeer · 09/03/2011 21:11

how many foods actually have the word meat in the name? Doesn't get much meatier than meatballs!

yama · 09/03/2011 21:12

We had meatballs tonight. It is one of meatiest meals we eat.

OliPolly · 09/03/2011 21:17

Shown him the thread and he was like . 'Oh come on, I was just hungry' and he agrees that he was unreasonable!
