to feel depressed about this ...

... or is it just pure snobbery on my part ...? Grin

I helped out at DD's school for World Book Week today, taking orders from 4 to 6 year olds. I took twenty-five orders. There were roughly 300 different books they could have chosen from, but every single order was for Tangled, Toy Story, Star Wars, and another one which I can't remember but the point is, they were all film tie-ins. Not books written as books, but cash-ins on films. AIBU to emit a large sigh ...?

YABABU.

I would heave a sigh. Then heave another sigh of relief that at least they're reading something.

Hell in a handcart mate.

YABU to be depressed about it. WHat you feel is not depression.

ANd does it matter what they are reading as long as they are enjoying it?

25/25!! I'd find it depressing too!

Frankly you'd think the WBW people would not offer such obvious film tie-ins, unless of course what they really care about is cash, not books.

Yeah, I know it's not depression. Sorry. I hit post then realised I'd probably get a comment like that. Cheesed off, then! Grin

I quite understand. However, I bet my DS1 would go for Toy Story or some such because we've got rather a lot of books at home and don't really have ones linked into films so he'd think it was a novelty to get something like that.
