Sorry if this has been done to death but AIBU to think that if you send out invitations to a child's party with your 'phone number and email, many of them to people who live on the same street as you, it really shouldn't be this hard to get a response?!

Some people are just scatty and some are just rude. I always assume no reply, no coming.

People are the same with all invitations it infuriates me. I was watching '4 weddings' at my mum's and guests who had not RSVP'd did not get fed. Ashamed to say it made me laugh.

Last year, I was doing boxed teas for a pool party. I insisted on doing two extras in case any non-repondants turned up although DH said not to bother. But I really couldn't face saying to a child, "No party tea for you, dear. Your parents are too rude/lazy/disorganised to sen a four word text." Didn't need them but it wouldn't be a four year old's problem.

no reply - then they're not coming. what else can you assume, how else are you to know numbers, party bags etc. Check with your DC first, sometimes friends will tell them they are coming.

(If you strongly suspect that they intend to come, count them in, but you'll be so surprised when they turn up... Grin)
