To cancel our anniversary trip?

Dh booked a romantic three night break for our wedding anniversary last summer. We are due to go tomorrow. It is a lovely five star hotel in the Cotswolds.

Anyway, my mum and dad were going to have ds 11 months while we are away. He is totally comfortable with my parents and although this will be the longest we have left him, I have no doubt he will be absolutely fine with them.

My mum called this morning to say that her and dad have come down with a vomiting bug, the same one ds had last week. He is still not 100% and coupled with teething, he is super grumpy at the moment.

Three issues here. If my parents were well, I'm not sure I would have wanted to leave him for three nights without me being there to comfort him. Second, the hotel is not the sort of place you would take children, however, we have phoned them and they said they will sort a cot and highchair for us. Third, I am concerned that we will have a stress fest as ds is so grumpy and is up most of the night grumbling.

If we cancel we lose our deposit and the first nights stay which will be over £300.

Suggestions?

Do the first night, see how it goes, move somewhere more appropriate, its not like everywhere will be fully booked this time of year!
HAVE FUN!

I would still go. The change will probably do you all good. Is it close enough that if your parents are better they could collect your ds for the last night so you can have 1 night alone maybe?
