well if he's 15 and he didn't pick them it might be a tad unreasonable Hmm

misdee · 07/02/2011 09:46

lol he is 4 weeks old. and a lot smaller than i was expecting after my last 3 baby girls were 9lb-ers. so rather than buy loads of tiny baby/newborn stuff, he has some of the girls smaller stuff. today however, he is in a dragon sleepsuit, and a pink vest and nappy. but if the cardy that he has that fits doesnt fit, then he may have the pink stripey one under his coat as well.

he won't care, if you don't care, its fine. He will be warm and dressed.

reallytired · 07/02/2011 10:34

Why not? Many centuries ago pink was considered a man's colour.

Its not as if anyone else sees the vest other than you. I am sure he will outgrow the newborn clothes rapidly.

Ria28 · 07/02/2011 10:48

Shock You'll make him grow up a cross-dresser! And gay! And random strangers will think he's a girl! You're scarring him for life you awful awful mother!

He is getting there but 0-3 still swamp him. He has some boys-neutral stuff which have been gifts, so he isn't all flowery anf pink evryday. But he is totally rocking the pink look IMO

YANBU! My DS is wearing a pink bib and a pink vest today! My SIL was horrified when she came round earlier Grin

FriggFRIGG · 07/02/2011 10:58

5 month old DS is sat here wearinG a pink sripey vest AND socks with flowers on Shock

(he has a babygrow somewhere with 'daddys girl' embroidered on to the front Grin

they were DD's clothes,he only really wears them indoors or under something...but so what it's a BABY!

(I may have tied a pretty bow in his hair briefly last night...just to see,you know, what a pretty girl he'd make...)

TotorosOcarina · 07/02/2011 11:00

of course not,

DS wears girls clothes all the time, not just boys pink stuff but girls flowery shorts as thats what he chooses.

he also wears nail varnish and diamante brooches.

He is brilliant :)

misdee · 07/02/2011 11:01

Lol frigg, did u take a picture?

Ds is such a pretty baby and pink suits him. I think I might go to next and buy him some hot pink t-shirts for the summer.

FriggFRIGG · 07/02/2011 11:05

mmmmmm,maybe....he might have also been wearing his sisters tutu...he likes it.honestGrin

misdee · 07/02/2011 11:07

Oooo I like that t-shirt.

I admit I am fed up of pink for ggirls as it tends to be ott pastel pink, but like bold pinks like that t-shirt for boys and girls. Love bright things.

My SiL just had a DS and has bought him new everything including teddy bears because he can't possibly have her DD's things, they are all pink. I think she is bonkers very concerned about him being picked on by other 1 month old babies.

FriggFRIGG · 07/02/2011 11:12

that t.shirt is amazing !

megapixels · 07/02/2011 11:18

YANBU. Why not, why waste perfectly good clothes that belonged to his sister. He's only a baby.

HandDivedScallopsrgreat · 07/02/2011 11:18

My DH came home with pink flowery sleepsuits from Sainsburys for DS one time because they didn't have any blue/boy ones (not a great surprise as our Sainsburys has one small corner for dull boys clothes and then a pink fest over two rows!). DH thought they would be more practical than white ones! He looked gorgeous in them. And yes I even took him out in them. He now has a pink check shirt and a pink and black stripy shirt (he is 17mo).

CakeandRoses · 07/02/2011 11:18

yanbu. such a waste to buy new vests, sleepsuits etc when you have perfectly good ones already.

(I may have currently have a dainty 6mo dd rocking a 'daddy's little dude' blue vest) Grin

i love pink on boys/men anyway - actually prefer it to girls wearing it (have asked family not to buy her any more pink dresses!) ds and dh have several pink polo shirts and shirts and look gorgeous, imo.

Francagoestohollywood · 07/02/2011 11:20

YANBU!
When ds was a baby I deliberately bought him a fair isle cardigan in bright orange, pink and green, he looked bloody gorgeous in it!

Onetoomanycornettos · 07/02/2011 11:21

Good to reuse the stuff, but don't be offended if little old ladies start cooing over 'her'.

Ria28 · 07/02/2011 11:29

Tiggy that's outrageous! It'll be your fault if he has a sex change!

shesparkles · 07/02/2011 12:01

It takes a real man to wear pink!!
And I "may" have recycled dd's babygros etc for ds Grin
