Look at femail/article/Firstborn
This is the first time I've tried to do a link so it might not work!Blush
Ok OK I know I'll be flamed for reading the Daily Fail but I've been thinking about all the people I know well and reckon there is something in this.
I reckon your position in family DOES make a difference to your perception of yourself and the way you deal with others. Anyone agree?

Yep. I am a full-on middle child. I haven't read the article you have linked to as I have looked at this stuff before. I think it can but isn't always so but I fit most of the middle child syndrome stuff.

Sorry, that was a complete flop! I was trying to give the link to the article in the daily Mail earlier on this week about first-borns being better and turning out to be leaders etc. Can't you tell I had an older brother? Blush

Yes, full scall first born here, my Brother typical a very last bornHmm

& I personally thought it made very interesting reading from the Only child point of view too, we tend to tear out hair out over DDs (only child) massive perfectionist streak, & my not being able to teach her anything creative as she sets herself up as a failure as always compares herself to me (creative professional Adult) just couldn't work out what we were doing wrong:(........ according to this article, its clasic Only child stuff, so yes, very interesting & seemingly accurate too

Confused....think I took dyslexic typos to a whole new level thereShock

MoaningMedalllist · 02/02/2011 15:04

I think the whole undivided attention aspect plays a bit part , and being more mature

I'm a first born :)*smugs

My brother is VERY much treated as a PFB child but it's actually me who is the first born.

Maybe it's because he's a boy?

CrosswordAddict · 02/02/2011 15:57

Maybe.
I keep thinking of people I've worked with and all the Team leaders, Hof Dept have all been either only children or first-borns.
Now you'll all have stories to the contrary I'm sure.

Good scientific evidence out there to back this up, no need to resort to the daily snail Wink

itsalarf · 02/02/2011 17:25

For me, 100% true as a first born. In fact it's spooky.Grin
