To wonder how such a small creature can make so much mess?

I've posted about this before but it is a reoccuring theme. One of the hardest thing about motherhood is the constant mess. Aggggrrrr! It's pure domestic slavery. I hoovered the floor last night and within 30 mins dd has covered it with breakfast/toys etc.

Embrace the mess!

What Fliss said. Just accept your house will be a tip until they leave home. It's much better for your blood pressure!

Wait 'til she's 14. You don't know what mess is yet... And then, when you shriek at them ask them nicely to clear up after themselves you get all the backchat too.

FabbyChic · 01/02/2011 08:47

I never found there was constant mess.

poshsinglemum · 01/02/2011 08:47

I've got the backchat already! I asked her to put her orange peel in the bin and got a big fat NO!

Lucky you fabby. Did you housetrain them? My house is tiny and the dining room and living room are one. Could be something to do with it.

Our house is huge (by London standards) there's more room for mess.

And when they are students they bring all their mates over for the weekend.

Then you will know what mess is Smile.

Yeah, my 14 year old DD's friends call for her on their way to school. They are all busy stuffing chocolate muffins in their gobs (judging by the state of my hall floor) - probably using the lunch money their parents think they're buying brocolli soup with.

Then they leave the heating on (which was turned off, but they've put it on again), leave the door open and off they go. After stuffing a few make up wipes down the back of the hall radiator, of course.

Little treasures.
