Ed Balls

I know this should be in politics but what the hell, as I have been on my high horse about hypocrisy today. I thought Ballsup looked like the"cat who had got the cream" today ref Alan Johnson's abrupt departure and I thought he was totally not sorry to lose AJ from the cabinet his just read Guido Fawkes blog and it seem AJ has been having a possible fling with an unamed civil servant and Balls has leaked this as he has been after AJ's job. I can't see him doing what he is told by Ed M. Be prepared for the return of Gordon Brown style briefings and bunker mentality. If you lot think Labour are up to the job to getting us out of our mess be warned

samme difference Jacqueen but Balls definitely has more previous with his big bag of tricks as someone else has said. It IS possible to dislike and mistrust both you know. But I dislike Ed more as I feel he did have his horrid pudgy mitts on the purse strings and did not even leave the small change

They have had a job- you may not rate it as a job but it's a job. They went to work, earned a salary.

George Osborne has never had a job! 40 odd-and a couple of weeks of paid work in his life until we let him run the economy.

At least the towels will be neatly folded.

klauskinskiinthekinotech · 20/01/2011 23:21

Change Burnham has had NO job outside politics and the same for Gordon I really don't get you. More double standards, why is George's job in politics any different they are all the same. George was a policy wonk so was Ed, you reallyConfused me

Jacaqueen · 20/01/2011 23:25

Ed Balls worked for the Financial Times for 4 years.

Changeisagoodthing · 20/01/2011 23:27

Gordon brown worked for a university- isn't that a job?

Jacaqueen · 20/01/2011 23:29

Yes he was lecturer at Glasgow Tech

cantspel · 20/01/2011 23:30

Ed Balls and Yvette Cooper the home flippers wouldn't trust him with my penny jar let allone the finances of this country

klauskinskiinthekinotech · 20/01/2011 23:32

Gordon was union president and "Rector" so I am not sure, it still comes under career politician to me and Burham was a wonk from the very beginning. But I stand corrected on Ballsy so he was a hack then a wonk and now he is a cunt who stabs people in the back to get what he wants, sounds like a fulltime job if you ask me

reddaisy · 20/01/2011 23:34

I rate Ed Balls very highly but he doesn't come across well which is a shame. I would prefer him to lead Labour than Ed M.

Alan Johnson should never have had that role, he did his best but Balls should have had it from the start. But it is a big shame to see him go.

Anyone watching Question Time?

reddaisy · 20/01/2011 23:35

I don't mind ambition in a politician and Balls has that.

FunnysInTheGarden · 20/01/2011 23:36

So OP who do you think is up to getting the country out of the mess it's in? The Coalition?

klauskinskiinthekinotech · 20/01/2011 23:38

I think George flipped his home too, so they are all flipping in it together but did the Ball's do double flipping I wonder? They are all flipping suspect to me, but Ed was the driving force behind the spend spend spend years with his Lord and Master ,so he is just flipping worse in my book. And he played a pretty nasty game along with Whelan and Damien McBride etc. They were the source of a load of real nice briefings even Alistair Campbell says that Balls was a master bastard in his own unique way.

OP posts:
klauskinskiinthekinotech · 20/01/2011 23:41

So you think Balls is up to it Funny? that takes theBiscuit if you do. But probaly neither IMHO or perhaps they should join forces for the good of the country but I am not so gullible that I would fall for the Balls spin and crapola

How is AJ's wife shaging one of the police protection officers Ed Balls fault?

For what it's worth i think anyone who leaves university then goes right into politics is suspicious and (at the moment with all the public spending cuts) a complete hypocrite who needs to get out into the real world.

And trust fund George and Dave the middle class millionaire are way smugger than anyone I've ever seen.

disclaimer - i dislike all the 'major political parties' and think they are all shitty

Jacaqueen · 21/01/2011 08:02

Maybe Ed Balls paid the protection officer to sleep with Mrs J just so he could get her husbands job?

donkeyderby · 21/01/2011 08:25

I believe Ed Balls was at the heart of the Aiming High initiative to improve short breaks (respite) for disabled children, so as the parent of a severely disabled child, I like him

nogreythatmatters · 21/01/2011 08:34

Ed Balls is tainted, as Brown's patsy and stooge, he was part of the last discredited government's " light touch on financial regulations" strategy that got this country in this unwholly mess.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 21/01/2011 08:42

Ed Balls is a vile, smug, arrogant man.

I'm not a Labour supporter but Alan Johnson had some integrity and it is a shame to see him go in this manner.

IShallWearMidnight · 21/01/2011 09:11

Ed Balls was behind the "lets legislate home education out of existence and while we're at it, paint them all as child abusers" Badman report. Nasty evil man.

Quite true smallwhitecat I notice all the party activists have crawled out of the woodwork to support him. OK it seems Guido got the tale wrong but apparently Ballsup is behind the leak. I dont rate George either but this blinkered party diehards who love Ed refuse to see any faults in him. Balls has been behind a few nasty smears in his time so don't try and paint him as the blessed saint of politics please it makes me spew.....

"He suffers from the bane of all Left-leaning intellectuals? these guys never get 'aspiration'. They would deny it, of course, but they see the middle class? as an unnatural constituency for them? They could 'get' that it might not be smart to penalise them; but not that it might be wrong to do so."

TB's words!

MrsThisIsTheCadillacOfNailguns · 23/01/2011 17:15
