This blinking baby could GET OUT before I explode? I am 40+4, have never been this overdue before and am fat and fed up.

The day i went into labour with DS I rode a mini train round the park went home had a shag and a curry and 30 mins later contractions started.

mumbar · 22/01/2011 21:41

Oh congratulations TED2. Grin

mutznutz · 22/01/2011 21:41

I had a shag and a curry too just before I went into labour.

Mind you, the waiters in the restaurant weren't too happy Wink

NinkyNonker · 22/01/2011 21:58

Ahhhh I feel for you so much. Dd was 10 days over and I was ready to kill someone. Fingers crossed for you.

TheEvilDead2 · 22/01/2011 23:44

Quickness? was in labour for 15 hrs! how long is normal? that was too long for me

TheEvilDead2 · 22/01/2011 23:46

9 pounds 7 and a little girl btw.

TheEvilDead2 · 22/01/2011 23:47

your turn loud lass!

sue52 · 22/01/2011 23:50

It sounds revolting but a dollop of cod liver oil gets most things moving.

outnumbered2to1 · 22/01/2011 23:55

DS2 was 18 days late. Due date was 6th March i finished up work on the 3rd March and was due back at work 6 weeks later. Ha ha ha blooming ha. Two weeks into mat leave still no DS2.

Raspberry leaf, curry, long walks, running up and down stairs, sitting in waiting room while my Dad had heart by-pass surgery, running around after DS1 even tried jumping on trampoline - nothing worked.

DS2 decided he was coming - waters broke and 4 hours later with about 6 pushes there he was all 9lbs 4oz of him.... wee bugger

Hang in there Loudlass and congrats TED2

CardyMow · 23/01/2011 09:54

9 lb 7 ! . Congratulations! But Sheesh you make big babies!! I'm still here, still pregnant, 41 weeks today. At least I'm seeing the consultant tomorrow, will get a sweep, and hopefully an induction date booked.

Well done TED2 - I hope you are recovering well.
Loudlass you have our undivided sympathy. I do vote for a little bit of doing the nasty - worked for us too. Possibly a grim thought at this point in time but might be worth it. Grin

CardyMow · 23/01/2011 11:26

Tried getting down...was awfully difficult to find a way to do it as I resemble an overweight elephant at the moment, and it hasn't done anything. Hmm Grin

Oh dear. It isn't quite as pleasant an experience as normal is it.

I think it takes a little while to take effect. Apparently it is the fluid that goes up that loosens the plug that gets things moving. Sorry if that was TMI. Couldn't think of a euphemistic way of explaining it. Blush

Deciduousblonde · 23/01/2011 15:16

Congrats TED2!!! a biggun, I empathise..hope all is well :)

Loudlass..my commiserations..it can't be long now, surely. Hope the sweep does something for you, or something happens in the meantime!

Carrotsandcelery · 24/01/2011 18:33

Loudlass where have you gone? Does this mean something is happening/has happened? I hope Congratulations are in order. [nosey and impatient emoticon]

supersewer · 24/01/2011 20:04

Go and have sex, it worked for me... or is that too much info?

CardyMow · 25/01/2011 14:49

Yup. Reuben Francis was born at 4.58pm on Monday 24th January. He weighed exactly 8lb.

My waters broke naturally at 2.30am on Monday morning. Shock. I got to 5cm by 8am, but then stopped dilating. Got put on a syntocinon drip at 4pm, and he was born less than an hour later. I only had a student MW in with me, told her I thought I was ready to push, she didn't even have time to put her gloves on!

I'm home now, just updating quickly as Reuben is a very hungry boy, and won't stop feeding!
