to say 'that's not fair'?

I recently entered a competition, there were a number of rules to be followed. Am I being unreasonable to be a little bit irritated that the top entries didn't actually follow the rules?

I feel like I'm 6 again and want to shout "that's not fair!"

How did they break the rules?

BetsyBoop · 19/01/2011 21:25

Yes of course you can turn into a 6yo again and shout "that's not fair!", but then I will be forced to turn into my mother & tell you "life's not fair, and the sooner you get used to it the better" !! Grin

Life's not fair, write to your MP!

Yes more details if possible, in principle you are probably not BU.

My friends and I lost a charity quiz by one point to a team that had one too many members above the maximum allowed. Now that's not fair! I feel your pain OP Sad

For example:

The rules stated you could not use a store bought pattern.

Several entries used a store bought pattern (even listing the pattern numbers)

If it is a big competition and it says no store bought patterns, then people who broke the rules may have had an advantage - I'd probably complain (DH would get into a complete state because he cannot cope with rules being brokenGrin)

In the grand scheme of things it's not a big competition (250 quid) but imo enough of a prize to ensure winners met the rules.

I must admit, I don't deal well with rule bending, tend to see things in black and white. Blush

no need to Blush I think if they make rules anyone who doesn't follow them should be disqualified - otherwise what's the point of having them?(I have a rather over active sense of fairness as well Grin)

YABU for not telling us about the rule bending in your 1st post, and for using the phrase 'for example'

come on, you want us on YOUR side, give it to us, guts and all
