or ''hasn't mummy cut your hair yet/washed your face/ bought you the latest designer clothes?''

Ok- you think I'm a rubbish mum but do tell me to my face instead of passive aggressively trying to go through my two year old!!!

Santa said to dd the other day; isn't mummy silly as her boots were on the wrong foot. She put them on herself fgs! grrrrrrr.

Well, is mummy being silly?

MoonUnitAlpha · 15/12/2010 14:07

My mum does this! Criticising my parenting in a sing-song voice to the baby Hmm

southeastastra · 15/12/2010 14:07

y are definitely nbu

mil used to do this to me all the time

TrinityMotherOfRhinos · 15/12/2010 14:07

well maybe mummy was silly not to change them over??
OR maybe he was trying to make jokey conversation with a two year old he doesn't know but which he has to make chit chat with and not scare?

TrinityMotherOfRhinos · 15/12/2010 14:08

mums and mil are doing the hideous passive aggressive thing

but I think you need to cut santa a break

FindingAManger · 15/12/2010 14:08

actually getting as far as Santa with your boots on the wrong foot is quite silly Mummy! Grin

scurryfunge · 15/12/2010 14:08

You could respond with " Isn't Santa an opinionated old fart on a minimum wage"

JimmyTarbuck · 15/12/2010 14:09

YABU to give a toss. I say it about myself all the time as I am, quite frankly, very silly.

MerrilyDefective · 15/12/2010 14:09

I agree.
Punch in the face territory.Xmas Grin

FindingAManger · 15/12/2010 14:09

I tell DD all the time that Mummy's silly! YABU, it's not people trying to tell you that you're a rubbish parent. They're making conversation with your DD.

poshsinglemum · 15/12/2010 15:02

I think that it's very funny when Santa says it. when other mums say it however; grrrrrrr.

My MIL does this. Most unhelpful. I had to leave the room she asked my 4 week old DD who was inconsolable from Colic "awww what is your nasty mummy doing to my darling baby?" Angry

YANBU it's just a passive agressive dig really isn't it? When it's mothers and MIL. Santa just sounded like he was trying to make conversation though. Can't be easy at times with some people.
