take all the minging coffee centred chocolates out of the selection box and dump them? Really they are gopping and their only redeeming feature is the bright orange foil paper that dd (3) can use for crafts. Sadly they seem to have gone over the top on bright orange coffee flavoured chocolates at the expense of the decent toffees.

I don't think am BU but await flaming. Grin

Coffee are the best ones. You are just plain wrong about gopping.

pink4ever · 06/12/2010 16:47

I love coffee creams! thorntons cappucino(white choc) are lush! also love turkish delight. Any spare coffee ones going then lob them my way please Wink

FellatioNelson · 06/12/2010 16:49

I do quite well out of boxes of chocolates. I always like the ones no-one else likes. Coffee, marzipan, nougat, I'm there.

GMajor7SwansASwimming · 06/12/2010 16:59

YANBU.

Coffee centres are very wrog indeed, as are orange and strawberry creams.

When oh when is Mr Quality Street going to wake up to this and produce a tin that contains no gross cream centres!

GMajor7SwansASwimming · 06/12/2010 16:59

Wrog Grin

TheHoneydragonsInTheIvy · 06/12/2010 17:13

Fellatio? Are you Ds?

FellatioNelson · 06/12/2010 17:16

Does he like marzipan? What impeccable taste for a small boy. I bought a whole slab of marzipan for a Christmas cookery project that got aborted due to laziness drunkenness lack of time, last year.

This year, in about July, I just sat down one day and ate the entire block of marzipan. It was about the size of half a housebrick.

TheHoneydragonsInTheIvy · 06/12/2010 18:04

Fellatio - he used his pocket money to buy a whole block from Tesco's last week.

His latest "invention" is circles cut out and then a galaxy counter / chocolate button shoved in. Or he makes really cute people and then bites of their heads.

His father and I retch quietly in the other room Xmas Grin

twirlymum · 06/12/2010 18:10

Coffee and marzipan both make me retch. I love the coconut ones, you can all send those over here Xmas Grin

As an aside, anyone who enjoys the golden toffee pennies in Quality Street has my dad to thank. He was fed up with picking bits of foil out of the toffee, so wrote and complained. They wrote back, and they now have another wrapper underneath the foil, to solve the problem!

Unrulysun · 06/12/2010 18:18

White chocolate with mint?

I am trying to find the perfect chocolate at the moment for my Christmas day after dinner hugeblowout treat. I have my eye on some chocolate covered cherries in Carluccios. Any other ideas?

pranma · 06/12/2010 19:20

Coffee creams in dark chocolate are my absolute favourite chocolates.I hate white chocolate, coconut and marzipan.

FellatioNelson · 06/12/2010 19:44

I don;t like anything with white chocolat either. I like it on its own, but not with things.

Now would be a good time to annouce the Dime Bar as the king of all chocolate bars.

FellatioNelson · 06/12/2010 19:45

God my typing is appalling tonight.

BusyMisstletoeIzzy · 06/12/2010 19:48

How about these Unrulysun? They also have kirsch ones.

ethelinaTheBloodyGreatXmasElf · 06/12/2010 19:58

Mmm Dime bars - bit like armadillos Xmas Grin
I love Frys fondant cream - mint and dark choc yum yum.

LetThereBeRock · 06/12/2010 19:59

YABU.The coffee ones are the best.

Figgypuddingrollsmuffintop · 06/12/2010 20:51

Oh no LetThere - you have gone down in my estimations Xmas Wink

You will all hate me even more as I am religiously smelling through the vile orange foil to see if they are orange or coffee and then taking the foil off and flattening to make something fun tomorrow, whilst am lobbing coffee choccies at the dog who doesn't like them either but is depositing them in one place for later on! All a bit strange here!

OP posts:
FellatioNelson · 06/12/2010 21:13

Shock Do not feed chocolate to your dog! It's highly toxic for them.Sad I'll set Valhalla onto you. Stop now.

Figgypuddingrollsmuffintop · 06/12/2010 21:26

No don't worry, the dog is picking them up and depositing in one area of the room (not to eat - she is also picking up the cats toys and putting them there) I can point blank honestly say she isn't and won't be eating any chocolate.

(Rather unfortunately my parents had a dog that was a horrible theif - took the xmas turkey one year - and it ate a whole box of dark chocolates, I had to clear up them mess as was home alone and have never felt so ill in all my life!)

I promise Fellatio she isn't eating them and am not feeding them to her!

OP posts:
FellatioNelson · 06/12/2010 21:29

OK.

Figgypuddingrollsmuffintop · 06/12/2010 21:51

I do really promise she isn't eating it!

Have now picked them up (having counted them!) and decided to lob them at dh as he is snoring away like a trooper and after me complaining at him about sil demands for xmas presents he sat up and started talking about photo's which is completely random.

OP posts:
Unrulysun · 07/12/2010 17:34

Busy I can't get the link to work on my phone :( can you let me know what they were? And thank-you for caring about my gluttony hunt for the perfect chocolate. :)

Figgypuddingrollsmuffintop · 07/12/2010 18:32

They are from Hotel chocolat I believe(they are very nice!)

OP posts:
BusyMisstletoeIzzy · 07/12/2010 23:16

Unrulysun, they are mulled wine-soaked, chocolate-covered cherries from Hotel Chocolat.

BreconBeBuggered · 07/12/2010 23:36

Coffee creams, bleurgh.

Can't do the link due to keyboard being designed for 3-year-olds, but for the perfect chocolate you have to order in some Brodies Scottish Berries. I only stay married to DH because he supplies me with these.
