ASDA FUCKING DIRECT!!!!!!!!

Just a warning to all you lovely mumsnetters - they are absolute shite.
I ordered a dolls house and furniture for my DD on there for Christmas at the end of Oct cos it was half price. I chose the option to have it delivered to my local(ish) store and pick it up from there. You are supposed to get an email when it is ready for you to collect and they keep it there for a month - if you haven't collected it by then it gets returned and the money is refunded to your card.
Anyway after about 3 weeks I still hadn't heard anything and I was shopping in Asda one day and I noticed their shelves were absolutely full of these dolls houses and was obviously wondering why I hadn't been contacted to collect mine. I phoned their "customer services" when I got home and they phoned the store while I was on the line and told me that it was ready to collect. I went to the store a few days later only to find that it wasn't there but there was another dolls house there for someone else with my surname (who had ordered theirs after me!). They turned the place upside down and said that it definitely wasn't there and that they couldn't do anything about it and I would have to call customer services again. I did last week and they said they would get back to me (still waiting).
Yesterday I got an email from them to say that the item had been returned to the depot that day (3rd Dec), as they had had it for a month, and my card has been refunded. Well firstly I had no email from them to say it was there and secondly when I went to collect it they insisted it wasn't there when it obviously was.
I would complain to ASDA but you have to call their expensive customer services which have been useless and don't return calls.
My only option now apparently (I asked in store today) is to re-order the item and they won't guarantee that it will be in stock or that I will have it in time for Christmas! I have to do this myself and there's no way they can help me or rush the order or anything even though it is their fucking mistake!
I'm gutted cos I know DD would have loved that dolls house and I was really looking forward to seeing her little face light up when she saw it on Christmas morning. I'm gonna really struggle to find another one in my price range before Christmas now because they have pissed me around for so long.

I know mistakes get made but they've done nothing to put it right. I definitely won't be ordering anything from them again!
OK got it off my chest now. Thanks for reading!

Firawla · 04/12/2010 21:28

i always find them really good! but never had delivered to store only direct to my house, so maybe thats where the problems come in but i always find them v reliable

saintknickerless · 04/12/2010 22:51

Actually Firwala I had some school uniform delivered to the house from them a while ago and there was no problem. This experience has put me off collecting stuff from the store though.

Do you think there's a chance they sold yours to this customer with the same name ?

Ten just said they'd sent it back to the depot to cover up.

anonnyme · 05/12/2010 00:14

Actually we had probs with this as well, (ordered at the end of oct too) though our customer service wasn't as bad as yours.

1st we ordered the dolls house & the furniture, after a couple of days we got an email saying that the house was out of stock & were refunded for it though the order for the furniture was still active.

Ended up checking the Asda site every day till the house came bk into stock & then ordered 1 for home delivery which arrived within a couple of days.

Didn't get a text about the furniture for pickup so phoned customer service after a fortnight or so. Customer service apologised & gave an e-cheque to cover the price of furniture & home delivery, which I then had to wait till it came bk into stock 4 days later to use. Furniture was delivered the next day.

So it was a fair bit of hassle but got the stuff in the end.

Oh, & by the way, we got a text last wed to say that our furniture was at the store for collection but ignored it, so there is prob a bag of furniture sat with our name on it at the local store Confused

Sorry to hear about all the trouble yo are getting with it, if my experience is anything to go by then I'd say to try complaining to customer service again Angry

saintknickerless · 05/12/2010 12:37

It's possible Cumfy but they probably would have just let me have the other one if that was the case?

I just did a search on "say no to 0870" for Asda customer services and found this number 0113 241 9833, guessing it's a local number so won't cost a fortune to call.

SantasENormaSnob · 05/12/2010 14:23

Yanbu

I had a nightmare with store delivery last year. Haven't used them since.

imnotperfect · 06/12/2010 15:48

lol, complain- i did when they only delivered half my shopping and they gave me free delivery and £10 off my next order- just do it nicely!!!

BiscuitNibbler · 06/12/2010 16:04

I ordered the very same dolls house and furniture pack. Had it delivered to my home, but one of the attic gable windows was broken. Their customer services is very frustrating, as the only option is for them to collect it and refund the money, they will not replace or re-order it for you.

I ordered it again for store collection (I wanted the cream one, and they only had pink in store) and after two weeks called to ask where it was. I was told it was at the store. Store said they had lost it, and that I should just re-order it again. After having a temper tantrum reasoned, calm discussion they reluctantly went to look again and fortunately found it.

I have since looked at reviews online and I would not order from Asda Direct again. Their attitude towards customers is far from helpful. The Dolls House is lovely, however.

I've just ordered the second furniture pack to go with the doll house that dd's grand parents have bought her for Christmas, all of them are in stock and so are both the houses, plus its only 3-4 days delivery time. If they've refunded you can u not just buy it again through the website and have it delivered?

Not much help on the customer service point though, sorry. They are truly pants i have dealt with them before over my online shopping and they are not a bit helpful.

jellyb00 · 06/12/2010 17:14

I was also told after ringing customer service that they wont replace or reorder something thats faulty for a customer.
I purchased a highchair from them an when it arrived it was cracked . so after ringing them was told to wait 3-4 days for re collection and then a further 2 days for my refund, then i was welcome to go online and reorder the highchair again.Safe to say I took my money and ran to the nearest mothercare and lugged one home on the bus :)
thanx asda direct for your great helpfull service i got one in the sale at mothercare for same price but alot nicer :)

annoymous23 · 29/03/2013 11:17

Been out of stock on all headphones and batteries.. Yet on there website it says they're in stock, It's been 2 month now and they still haven't got any in, shit store with a alright bakery. That's Asda for you.

  • edit, went back into town and got the same headphones and batteries I've been wanting for ages, thanks Tesco !
Dawndonna · 29/03/2013 11:21

Why, why resurrect a fucking post from before Christmas? It's really annoying and yes, I'm being arsy, but it has no relevance to Easter at all.

Asda Direct Online Shopping
I ordered a storage chest drawer from asda direct and it was broken on delivery. Now i hardly go out because am 8 months pregnant and having chemotherapy for breast cancer. i called for an exchange or a refund and was told that the only way to get that is to take the item to the shop or to a post office. i ordered online and the item was delivered to my house. why then can't i get it collected from my home. what is the use of paying for a delivery when you still have to go to the shop for a return or a refund.

debbz57 · 20/10/2014 15:38

I have to tell you - three years later and they still haven't improved !!! I have paid for a dolls house, and cannot get anyone to listen to me when I say only part of the order has been delivered. They now owe me either the house (part order of furniture has been received, which is what is apparently the confusing part!), or my money back. I am getting no where. Any solutions please?
