okay, just a silly question but would like some mums opinions! was looking for stocking fillers online last night and DD (aged 5) loves hello kitty, I found these but DH says they are utterly ridiculous. I would prefer her to be into Hello Kitty than Barbie dolls and thought they were pretty cool & functional, DH says she'll looks silly, aibu?!

Dd1 loves those. According to her (she is 7) Hello Kitty is the epitome of cool and you simply must have as much Hello Kitty tat as you can possibly fit in your room/wardrobe/school bag, especially if it is overpriced tat.

i would buy them if they were a bit cheaper. both my dds (3&9) would love them.

UmYeahLikeTotally · 23/11/2010 15:21

ahh I think they are v cute for a 5 yo! YANBU!

TheRedQueen · 23/11/2010 15:22

Well, I suspect they they may not turn out to be that functional, but she's five, it's Christmas and she'll no doubt adore them.

Oh, and my five-year-old Hello-Kitty-mad DD is getting something similar ...!

wintersnow · 23/11/2010 15:25

Yep, think I'm going to get them, might get DH an equivelant pair too Grin

They are great, my 5 year old DD wants a pair.
Your DH may think they look silly, but the other girlies will not.

wintersnow · 23/11/2010 15:47

Yes, I suppose the fact that a 30 year old man thinks they look ridiculouus is prob a sign that a 5 year old girl will love them, ha!

Ynbu! My DD has those! H&M £2.99. She loves them! No way would I spend a tenner on them though!

wintersnow · 23/11/2010 15:51

I saw them in H&M a while ago but they must have sold out as haven't seen them in store since or in their online shop :-(

I bought my DD those in Next for £7 about 3 weeks ago!

ApocalypseCheese · 23/11/2010 16:16

Try Asda, they ave loads of H K stuff. As do Tesco

clairefromsteps · 23/11/2010 16:25

Hello Kitty earmuffs aren't exactly the height of sartorial elegance, but will that really matter if she adores them? I imagine the look on her face when she opens them on Christmas morning will convince your DH it was a good idea after all.

Firawla · 23/11/2010 16:51

they are so cute just get them, i dont see dh problem with it, if dd will like them its more important. yanbu

ditavonteesed · 23/11/2010 16:55

cool ordered them from next my dd's 4 and 7 will adore them

ozymandias · 23/11/2010 17:37

I love them! Kids are allowed to look silly, dressing sensibly will come all too soon.

A1980 · 23/11/2010 17:40

There are the cutest thing ever! BUY THEM Grin

snowflake69 · 23/11/2010 18:56

They are nice but if they go to school or nursery label them because literally every girl in my setting has something hello kitty clothing/assessories and it causes endless arguments! Its the fad of the minute.
