to not tip for a pedicure?

Had a pedi this morning, dont normally get them but thought Id treat myself as baby is coming soon so I know I wont get a chance after that!

Anyway, I didnt tip her. Not because the service was rubbish, just because I wasnt entirely sure of the etiquette. I tip the saturday girl at the hairdressers though so it made me think EEEK! Have I made a huge faux pas?!

Please advise, Id quite like to go back there Blush

Don't tip for rubbish service. It's not fair to those who do a good job.

Sarsaparilllla · 22/11/2010 16:35

Nah, I never tip for things like that, you don't have to if you don't want to

I hate all this tipping, what next? Do we need to tip the cashier in Sainbo's or the shop assistant in Next!? Surely their wage is compensation for their time and effort?

If you recieved a good service, as in not kept waiting, treatment you were happy with and friendly therapist then you should tip imo.

Although I was once a Beauty Therapist so i know what a difference tips make. I worked for a rubbish 6 quid per hour and the days where i wouldn't recieve many tips were very stressful for me.

Plus if you are regular, then you really will always be looked after. Slotted in a busy diary, extra massage etc Grin

I never tip anyone, no-one tips me at work, so why do it in other professions (mine is shit paid too, before all the therapists/waitresses start saying how poorly paid they are).
