OK I'm due to give birth in less than two weeks so a tad emotional. Have had a baby shower today with my friends, lots of babies and kids, lots of running around & answering the door, playing games etc. Had a really nice time and now happily exhausted and ready for bed.

Except, DH had a lunch with his mates at the pub. All came back here and left around five, apart from one who is lurking on the couch, drinking beer, knowing there's more in the fridge, quite happy to sit around even though I have withdrawn to my computer. I have told DH in hushed tones that he's not to eat any leftovers until he gets rid of said mate (pretty mean as DH gets seriously moody if he doesn't eat).

It may be our last saturday night alone together and I don't want him getting pissed with his mate at hour house. I'd quite like to have a bath then have some food and hang out with him on my own. it's like, f the f off!!

Anyway just had to have a rant. Thanks for listening.

Ask him to leave

ChaoticAngel · 06/11/2010 19:20

Move beer from fridge and hide. No beer no reason for him to stay.

Doigthebountyeater · 06/11/2010 19:21

I threw one of my ex's mates physically out of the house once. I just cracked (he was there ALL THE TIME) and totally lost it!

Myleetlepony · 06/11/2010 19:22

Just go up to him, tell him you're really tired and ask if he'd mind wandering off now, so that you can enjoy what might be your last weekend of peace before the baby arrives.

BelleDeChocChipCookieMonster · 06/11/2010 19:23

Just start to talk about piles, leaking nipples, discharge and constipation. He'll quickly run a mile.

PortoTreasonAndPlot · 06/11/2010 19:25

Can you go in there and say something "So do you need a taxi ordering?" or the like?

Oscalito · 06/11/2010 19:26

Glad someone mentioned moving the beer, I've already done that. Took all the cold ones out of the fridge to put in leftovers. Grin

ComeWhineWithMe · 06/11/2010 19:30

Fake a few contractions -he will run a mile and you can tell dp it was a false alarm once he has buggered off.

PinkieMinx · 06/11/2010 19:31

Can't you have a word with DH - say you're off for a bath and expect matey gone by the time you pull the plug

fedupofnamechanging · 06/11/2010 19:32

Pretend to get a phone call requiring both of you to dash out. it'll be worth having a quick drive just to get shot of him. You can drop him off at the bus stop on your way out.

Or, have a bath and tell your DH you want to go out to dinner, so friend has to leave.

You have my sympathy. My DH has a friend like this, with the added bonus of stinky feet!

Oscalito · 06/11/2010 19:33

Ahh, I hear talk of bus routes. He must have got the message. Maybe he sensed Mumset was on to him.

Gone! Off to bath. Thanks for all advice Smile

Stinky feet would have tipped me over the edge.
