to think all packaging should be recyclable ...

As far as I can make out there's not much that can't be packaged in something widely recyclable.
Surely if it was law (or something) then the cost (I guess that's the problem) would come down massively if everyone had to use it.
I find recycling a pita because of having to 'sort' it - still do it but it's such a faff.
Not an exciting thread I know, but it's been bugging me for years ....

I agree and most supermarkets are making moves that way... albeit reluctantly. There are laws in place that are forcing retailers to use less packaging and Sainsburys are being taken to court over it www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2010/sep/16/sainsburys-court-excessive-beef-packaging

I agree. We try to not purchase things that come in non recyclable packaging, whenever possible.
