DS2 is in Year 9 and brought back school newsletter - in it they announce the names of the new year 9 prefects - of about 20 or so only one is a boy! I doubt this is intentional on the scjhool but surely they should be looking to find some boys that could do that role (may its just not 'cool').

So should I ask them could they not try harder to get more boys involved?

My DS9 is a member of the school council, he volunteered.

He is one of three boys, there are 17 girls.

Boys just did not volunteer, I think they are just not as interested.

DS says girls are always more interested in telling people what to do.

He joined because he had some ideas to stop bullying.

Not sure what the solution is you can't force them but at least the school should try to get some balance - mayz it's a Shock as you say if there are boys as prefects then one should be head boy. Sends out all the wrong messages - where's the balance?
