I definitely would.

Maybe twice.

Me too, Mr Thornton all the way.

ShrinkingViolet · 07/10/2010 23:15

me three, except the ending annoys me, as no way would JT have been sitting in a railway carriage with his jacket off and cravat untied. And unlikely not to have had a hat on as well. I know it's better for the viewing figures storyline, but it's not right for the period. Gah.

[daydreams] "look back, look back at me"...

Doodleydoo · 07/10/2010 23:19

Only 4 sleeps till spooks......

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 07/10/2010 23:32

Yes but, Shrinking Violet, if we were to sit down and list all the anachronisms - I winced at one point when he said 'Oh my God' - it would spoil the magic, wouldn't it? On the DVD, there is some production/designer bod saying that it was a deliberate decision to have RA sans cravat in the final scene. Have you read the book? The ending's better, I think.

I have, ahem, watched it quite a few times now (someone has very kindly posted it on Youtube) and that 'look back, look back at me' scene still brings a lump to my throat. So I am immensely grateful to RA for that. Of course, I do still trust that he doesn't spend his weekends stamping on kittens, but that isn't really what matters to me. I wish I'd seen him in the Duchess of Malfi, though. (But as I've learned from all this that he lives quite near me, I live in hope of seeing him at the cheese counter in the supermarket).

womblingfree · 07/10/2010 23:46

Have just read an interview with Laila Rouass about the love scenes to come in Spooks, and I quote;
"It's not so much bedroom scenes because they do it all over the house!"
That should keep you going 'til Monday cupcakes!

Now I have my mists on both North & South and the first 5 episodes of Robin Hood - where shall I start? Answers on a postcard please! Grin

cupcakesandbunting · 08/10/2010 10:42

I've just re-watched "look back at me" and I still don't see it with DDA.

It should have been me, it should have been meeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Always start with North and South...

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 08/10/2010 13:08

Yes, start with North and South. It repays frequent viewings.

Robin Hood is very jolly (I speak as a veteran of 1 1/2 episodes) but, as far I can see (so far at least), it is basically panto with Guy of Gisborne as a particularly fetching villain with leather trousers some redeeeming qualities.

womblingfree · 08/10/2010 14:40

Thing is I've bought n &s but rg from library, and my inconsiderate dh is staying in tonight - grrrr!

brooke73 · 08/10/2010 21:09

ASmallBunchofflowers - where does RA live then? (runs off to get A to Z)

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 08/10/2010 21:59

Well, it says in an earlier post that he said in an interview that he lives in SE London in a house with a large garden. Someone suggested pitching a tent there.

However, just I suspect that the promise of Lucas getting raunchy on the kitchen table with a Strictly Come Dancing contestant is a hoax to get the nation's ladies of a certain age to watch Spooks, so I wonder whether he said that to throw his legions of obsessive devoted fans off the scent. I imagine therefore that he actually lives in a converted barn in the Cotswolds. Or a lighthouse off the Cornish coast. Or a Hebridean croft.

womblingfree · 08/10/2010 23:48

More promises of kitchen table action on Twitter tonight...we'll see...

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 09/10/2010 00:04

Yeah, but twitter is being written by hopeful fantasists freelancers, isn't it?

So what did you watch, womblingfree?

womblingfree · 09/10/2010 00:29

The 1st 2 episodes of Robin Hood as it has to go back to library next Weds. Not entirely sure if it's worth wading through them all tbh. Am saving North & South for when.I have a dh-free evening or 2 and can lust in peace Grin

brooke73 · 09/10/2010 18:56

Surprised that Robin Hood was disappointing, the montage on YouTube (womanizer) is such a swoonfest!!!!!!!What clips from Youtube can anybody else recommend???
My North and South DVD arrived yesterday!! Hide it from DH Smile

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 09/10/2010 19:04

This is

womblingfree · 09/10/2010 19:53

OMG - that voice...

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 09/10/2010 20:12

Womble, yes, it is that voice that does it...Grin
Was very annoyed last monday as had settled down, waiting for the kitchen table scene that didn't happenGrin ...hope it is in this week...

brooke73 · 09/10/2010 22:09

Oooooh that clip was fab - I'll be kicking dh out of the door next week so I can watch North and South, it kind of ruins the exprience when he's in the room Smile

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 09/10/2010 22:14

This is also superb if you like .

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 09/10/2010 23:40

If you look on Twitter now, Lucas has come over all 9 1/2 Weeks.

MrsLucasNorth · 10/10/2010 17:33

I saw that. I nearly tweeted back to ask if he'd like me to bring some chocolate spread round!

MrsLucasNorth · 10/10/2010 17:35

He's back onto the kitchen table theme this afternoon...Grin

Theresaholeinyourmind · 10/10/2010 18:52

Lurker here, with thanks for a fun thread. I was really miserable and it has put a huge smile on my face
So. Who is this Richard Armitage anyway :)

goingatinybitmad · 10/10/2010 19:05

He's a potentially gittish but very beautiful actor with a voice like melted Bournville.
