To have walked out in a mood?

Today was my day off and my sister asked me to take her and her DH to a specialist store a few miles out of town. After we got back to her house, they went on the PC looking at holiday homes (not buying, they just like to look) and I asked to look at one of them and my sister said no. Well, after I have driven them around all day, I was quite put out for her to refuse, especially as every villa her DH said to look at, she did happily.

Also, all the time we were in the car, sis and her DH were talking about people in his family, and I was asking questions about their conversation, and sis said, 'oh, nothing, it's too complicated to go into' so all the time they were having their own private conversation that I was excluded from.

When I left DSis' home, I was in a bit of a mood and she asked if I was alright. I told her I wasn't and the reasons why and just walked off.

Was I being childish and unreasonable?

I think you lasted longer than I would have.

Sorry what type of 'specialist shop'

Sounds like she mistook you for the hired help.

Safari10 · 13/09/2010 19:38

Me too! "Oh nothing it's too complicated" if she's talking about something in your presence is RUDE! You should have told her driving a car was too complicated for you and asked her to walk.

sleepingsowell · 13/09/2010 19:42

She was totally rude. Good for you, for walkig out and good that you told her why. She was taking you completely for granted. Hopefully she will think a bit more carefully in future.

The specialist shop was a shop selling llama wool products Grin

No I wouldn't have said you were the childish and unreasonable one.

traceybath · 13/09/2010 19:51

LOL - I thought she'd got you to drive them to an adult specialist shop and wait outside Grin

She sounds a nightmare though.

Hassled · 13/09/2010 19:51

They're into llama wool products and they just look at holiday homes for fun? Walk off all you like, and don't look back.

She sounded like a dick before the llama wool revelation. Now she sounds like a right dick.
