I have a name which I use when I am talking about something really really near the knuckle for me, it adds another layer of anonymity which I couldn't do without.

I've had a few other names which I don't use anymore - changed each time because I let out more personal info than I'd meant to, so permanent name changes followed, for safety as it were.

I couldn't manage 4, all current.

Maybe it's not good/bad/ugly but death/famine/pestilence/war.

I've got ten names, that way I can answer my own threads so I don't look like Kurri-no-mates.

I've had a total of four names the whole time I've been on here. Changed permanently twice due to getting a truck load of awful rubbish chucked at me over nothing, and a reserve name I keep if I need to talk about something a bit too scary to talk about under my usual names. Can't maintain more than one everyday name though!

I have an alter ego that I use rarely for very sensitive subjects and its odd to be talked to as a woman. I even got cuddled by a thread full of feminists once.

I dont do it to deceive or cause trouble though.

YANBU. It's sensible to ensure your own privacy on the internet.

At the mo I just have one, but as hubby is on here too, I would create another for sensitive posts :)
