Hi all,

Am struggling with my broodiness right now.

Ds is 3yrs 9 mo. He is also being assessed for ASD.

I am about to start part time college in Sept, with a view to getting a new job in 2012. DH is older than I am and wants me to be comfortably working when he retires, so that our standard of living won't slip too much (this is NOT selfishness btw, he is supporting us all now, and there is no reason why I could not later)

So, right now is a bad time to be broody, I get that. plus we live in a 2bed house, so not very practical for two small people.

But I just think we could work it out, and it would be a really positive thing for ds to have a sibling.

DH thinks he would suffer lack of attention fewer choices, less money etc etc

no, he is willing to talk about it, but he is "leaning heavily on the no side of the idea"

is there ever a right time to have a child or another child? I don't know that there is..For me as i am in my late 30's I feel number 2 is going to need to folow number 1 quite quickly!

Hope you can both talk it through to some resoultion or compromise e.g. re timing?

I dont think there is a right time either. I think if people wait until everything is perfect (house, finances etc). sometimes it would take forever. I think its best to just 'go for it'. Everything works out!

I live in a 2 bed. My 2 DCs are aged 3 yrs (literally just turned 3) and my 19 month old son and they share a room and love it. They love sharing together, so it can be done.

I don't regret having another, as they love each other, interpsersed with arguments Having grown up with 4 brothers, I air on the side of having a sibling being a great thing and I couldn't be without them.

Sadly unless your H is in agreement, there is nothing you can do
