Why doesn't John Lewis sell bouncers?

My policy on buying stuff for my baby has, up to this point, been to do no research and buy whatever John Lewis stocks, my rationale being that if the venerable JLP doesn't have something it can't be worth having.

So when thinking of getting my very active 4 month old a bouncing thing, I was surprised to see that JLP do not stock bouncers either of the doorframe or floor-based variety.

AIBU to expect JLP to have bouncers or is there something I should know? God-forbid they are not middle-class enough.

I was looking at the floor based variety in my local JL (BX) as a present for my SIL. IME the online range is smaller than whats in store.

My baby massage teacher says the door based things are terrible for babies joints and should avoid.

They sell the bouncy chairs. They have a good selection from very basic up to £100.

Don't I feel like an idiot. In my defence, I looked under 'baby &'pre-school toys' rather than 'feeding and caring'. Still feel rather foolish though.
